Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Stanley

Mom is in Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Stanley. I like everything about it. The staff is wonderful. Everybody who lives there gets along well. They have plenty of activities to do. Every day I go, my mom says, "I really like it here." Everybody keeps their doors open so you can just pop in and visit. It's just a wonderful place. There are two larger apartments and she has one of them. She has her queen-sized bed from home in there with a dresser, two end tables on either side and a chair. It's open concept. The bathroom is very roomy. She's got a closet and a big living area. She's got a couch, a 50-inch TV, a dresser, a recliner and a little round table that collapses on the side with two chairs. It's a huge room. It has three windows, so it's very bright and airy. She's allowed to have her dog. They help her take care of her dog. They take her out for her and let her run the facility. She's kind of the therapy dog there. I've seen other people bring other dogs in to visit. I couldn't ask for more. Brittany, the girl that runs it, sent a picture of the dog in her office just hanging out and she's a bigger dog. We have a dog gate so mom can keep her door open and the dog can see people coming in. Most people come in and pet her right away. They have kids from the daycare down the road come for story time and they all pet the dog. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my mom. It's not a busy area. They're not in town. They're a couple of blocks from the hospital. It's really quite handy. They have a common area right in the front but not too many people actually stay there. Most people gather in the dining area and that's where they do all their activities. There's a puzzle area in the back, patios, an outside vegetable garden and a flower bed. They have something pretty much every day. They have an activity director come in Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They have church on Sundays, exercise, chair yoga every morning, Yahtzee, and movie nights.

We visited Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Stanley. They only have assisted living. My father was at a memory care unit the last time, so even though this is a small community, it wouldn't work for him. They do have locks on the doors, and it's a good community. The staff members are excellent, and very friendly. Everything about the apartment was clean and suitable. I believe you'd have to bring your own furnishing. The hospital is right down the road from them, and the pricing is comparable to everybody.
