"What a great place to live! Besides the beautiful grounds, and the potential for a city park to be built behind the facility, there are always fun activities going on, and very friendly staff to meet your needs. The most exciting amenity is the well-appointed wellness center, with a luxurious warm water swimming and exercise pool. The food has improved over the past two years, so that it now is almost like a high quality restaurant. The laundries are community, not individual, but that's not difficult to manage. The common areas have been recently updated. Though not lavish, they are quite comfortable and conducive to interaction between residents. Shorewood has won awards for several years for best retirement living in Rochester. I agree! "

"We've chosen Arbor Terrace. What we liked the best, was the safety, and the level of care. We got a one-bedroom deluxe. One bedroom with a small kitchen and a small living room. The staff seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and they seemed good. They have a happy hour, and they have musicians there when we visited one time. It's close to the clinic, and they had a good reputation for good quality care."

"My mother has been here since the beginning of this month. We've chosen them because of its proximity and the views. The staff is fine and they seem to be caring. She's kind of a foodie, and she says the food is not bad. Her room is like a small apartment. They don't have a lot of activities right now because of COVID. The facility is excellent and very well laid out. It is more of a traditional type, but it's a new building. They seem accommodating and willing to work with us. It's right by the Silver Lake, so it's pretty and only about a mile to downtown. "

"My mom has been in The Waters on Mayowood for a few months now. Her experience has been great, and it's a wonderful community. Her room is pretty typical for that level of care. The maintenance is great. They do a good job in there. My mom enjoys the food. The dining area is great. They have two dining options. She has chosen the one where at the beginning of the week, she picks off of a menu rather than a restaurant style. From what she's had, she's enjoyed it immensely. They have plenty of activities. They have group activities, such as music. They have bingo, and they have outings. They have a nice array of activities. The staff is wonderful."

"We visited Madonna Towers of Rochester. We were very comfortable there. They gave us a very nice tour. They had a lot of things we would like. They have all the facilities you want. They have the meals, and they have a nurse on duty all the time. The food evidently is very good. I have some friends that live there, and they have a lot of social activities. They have the usual exercise room, library, and a little store where you can buy some odds and ends. It's an older building but they have certainly kept it up well. They have a lot of activities it looks like. I checked out a one-bedroom, two bath. It was called a deluxe bedroom. I didn't really get to meet many of the staff. The lady that does tour really knows what she's doing, and she could answer all the questions I had and so forth. I saw the lobby, the front desk, the exercise room, the dining rooms, a little store right there, a beauty shop and barbershop together, and their chapel. I found them very nice."

"I toured Forte Living at Rochester, MN. I guess I liked it because it was new and it was very open and bright, which is what I was looking for. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very caring and very, very open to looking at different types of units that might be more suitable for me, and just willing to work with me. The apartments were all new. So, it was a very, very updated, very modern headquarters. It was just the arrangement and everything was nice. Everybody had a washer and dryer. There were lots of amenities, yoga, exercise classes, games, and social events very much geared to the age of 55 and up."
