Questions about Potters Country Home

Potters Country Home cares for 15 residents ranging in age from 40's to 90's, currently including 9 men and 6 ladies. Many residents are very active here, engaging in walks, activities, and gardening as well as leisure activities of their choosing. We do not provide care for high end memory loss or behaviors so the overall atmosphere of Potters is very similar to a senior apartment setting. You can expect a peaceful and leisurely country pace of life with other folks who do not need nursing home care yet are unable to live independently in their own homes. Our fully trained and caring staff are there to provide all the household cares and personal needs to make each day smooth and enjoyable.
What programs or activities does Potters Country Home offer to enrich residents' well-being?
There are a variety of games and activities offered at Potters as well as an on-site beauty shop, weekly spiritual gatherings, and special outings offered on a regular basis into the community. Residents can expect 3 homecooked meals each day plus nutritious snacks and treats. Our experienced group of cooks bring in favorite recipes from home or tasty ideas from a variety of sources. When we serve mashed potatoes we start with a 10-pound bag of potatoes and a peeler, not a box of flakes!
What safety features or security measures does Potters Country Home offer to assisted living residents?
A fully trained 24-hour staff is available to provide assistance with all emergencies, injuries, or falls. There are a variety of grab bars, bath seats, and other assistive devices throughout the facility that can be adapted to each resident's specific needs. An emergency call system in the building allows residents to alert staff to unexpected needs or concerns.
How does Potters Country Home keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
On-site owners ensure that each resident receives the highest level of care and attention each day as well as maintaining a high level of family communication. We can be reached 7 days a week with questions or concerns and we personally keep families up-to-date on their loved ones needs or status via whatever form of communication the family requests upon admission.

No pets welcome at this time. Our outdoor human spaces are second to none however with patios, porches, walking paths, flower beds, bird feeders, garden space and many resting benches both in the sun and shade. There are 15 beautifully landscaped and wooded acres for our residents to explore at their leisure, with or without staff assistance.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
All staff receive a rigorous initial training program, both on- and off-site. This is followed up by a yearly Continuing Education program based upon the specific needs of current residents as well as daily updates to allow us to assimilate new residents into our care as smoothly as possible.
