Independent Living Communities in Baldwin, WI

"My mom just moved in to Wintergreen recently. We chose this facility because for my mom, staying in her community area is very important. It is close to where my mom currently lives, as well as her current doctor. So far so good. They offer different levels of care from independent to assisted living. Although I had limited encounter with them, I had a tour of the facility. They are detailed and very prompt. They have different room sizes to choose from based on your budget and your needs. The food is very good. "

"My dad has lived here for over a year. The staff is very interested in meeting his needs, and communication has been very good. When we have raised issues, they have responded quickly and appropriately. Facility is always well-maintained, and front door staff are attentive and helpful. Folks working in the restaurant and the kitchen have been wonderful, and the food is fantastic. Rent is high, but so is the quality."

"My visit at Villas of Oak Park was excellent. The manager who showed us around was fantastic. She showed us a couple of different apartments that were fantastic, very roomy, and extremely clean; the building was, too. The amenities and the pricing all fit what we needed. It was very impressive, and we are looking forward to moving in. The grass and everything was so clean and fresh. It was hard to find anything we did not like about it because it was excellent."

"Boutwells Landing is a very beautiful setting. They have a main street inside that has a barber shop, drug store, and a little shop where you can buy a few groceries. It's quite a unique building. They have a swimming pool and some sort of exercise area. They also have a woodworking area and church. They supply transportation around town with their little transport buses. They get people to appointments and shopping. "

"The Oaks was a very nice place. It was exceptionally clean and felt very homey because it is an independent living facility. People there went out to buy groceries, have coffee, or drove around in the afternoon, and then came home. There weren't a lot of people available when I went there. The staff was very friendly. "

"The Lakes at Stillwater is a beautiful facility. It looks like a lodge out in the woods. They have an area for classes, they have an amphitheater, and they have a fire pit. They have a lot of outdoor spaces. The common areas are cozy and beautiful. They have a restaurant. It was cozy. It looked like a five-star hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, too."

"I toured Talamore Senior Living Woodbury. I like it because it's brand new. They just opened last March. I like the variety of floor plans. I like the activities. The food looks good. I like the staff. I like the fact that it's a continuum of care where I'm starting at independent living, and I'll go to assisted care whenever I need to, and then I'll go to memory care or Parkinson's, whatever. It's completely furnished. It has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and washer and dryer."

"Boulder Ponds Senior Living was really nice. I would've preferred my husband to go there actually, because it's so close to home. It's only like about a year old, but they wouldn't take him because they did not want to administer his blood thinner shot. They had senior apartments, assisted living, and memory care. They showed us through everything. The staff member was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. They're competent people. They had very nice grounds and nice common areas. I was very impressed with the place. It was very nicely done. It was up kind of high and it looked out over Highway 94, but the back part was a wooded area, which was very nice. The dining area looked very nice and it looked like a restaurant. The memory care was kind of a smaller area compared to the other parts, but it looked very comfortable."

"I lived at Stonecrest in the independent living apartments for over 2 years. My husband had died several years earlier and my children knew I needed to be around people. I was very apprehensive about moving but in time I realized this is what I needed. The residents are the most warm and welcoming people I've ever met. There are so many actvities offered that there is an interest for everyone, from Bible Study to sewing groups, exercise, etc. The staff is wonderful. Everyone knew my name. I was sad to leave but my health had deterioriated and I moved in to my daughter's home. "

"I thought that Oak Meadows was really nice from the moment I walked in. The staff member that assisted me was very friendly and inviting, and the head nurse for assisted living made time for me right away even though I didn't have an appointment."

"Augustana Health Care Center was very nice. The nurses were very accommodating. The food was very good, and my husband liked it. A lot of times, he ate in his room, and the food was brought in to him. If we were there, we would go into the dining room and sit with him when he ate. I thought it was very spacious, and the people were really nice. It had lots of windows and lots of trees outside. He loved looking at the trees. "

" Having my mother at this facility since May of 2016 I can honestly say it was very much the right choice for both her and our family. We had looked at 5 assisted living facilities in the NE suburbs and decided on this one. No one has regretted the decision. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful, from the concierge to the housekeepers. I feel my mother is treated as someone of value, not just a resident. The staff go out of their way with the residents, from the director on down, and I see this on a daily basis. It is a cheerful, happy, respectful (most important) amenity, with a personnel who are VERY welcoming and delightful. there are daily activities and bus excursions from shopping to lunch to movies and field trips. The dining room is staffed by more of the same friendly outgoing people and the food is divine. My mothers room has a view of a large wooded/marshy area that is home to much wildlife including deer, fox, coyotes and waterfowl, which she greatly enjoys watching. There are many amenities from in service beauty shop, arts/crafts room, exercise area, library, cafe, and life center. From talking to friends whose parent(s) are in other assisted living establishments in the area, I feel my mom is in the best care possible and it shows we made the RIGHT choice daily. If I could give it 6 stars I would. You could do NO BETTER than the waters of Oakdale in my opinion."

"We went to Saint Therese of Woodbury and toured the area that they're building new apartments in. They have assisted living and independent living. I like the facility. It's much more open, airy, and newer. The person that assisted me was very professional. She was very good. The dining area looked very nice, light, airy, and open. She took us through the workout area and meeting rooms. They have an area for church services."

"I toured Oak Terrace. I liked that their apartment seemed to be a little bit more open. If there's no air conditioner there, they have extras that we can borrow while we're there. The one thing that I disliked about it is that they don't do bingo and a lot of things with the people there since COVID. I was talking to someone who lived there when I was there, and she told me they haven't done things like bingo and other things like they used to before COVID, but that was about the only thing I didn't care about. The staff was very nice."
