My father recently moved to Homestead Living after a short stay at a different and much larger facility. What a huge difference in facilities! Homestead Living has a "Homelike" atmosphere. Homestead Living is a small, 16-bed facility that does not seem "Institutional." All staff are excellent with the residents and truly seem to care about their wellbeing. Staff are well trained in dealing with residents with memory issues and are kind and genuinely care about the residents. Carol, the Activity Director engages each resident personally in a way that interests them. Her smile and personality toward the residents is heart warming. The meals are homemade and delicious. Each meal comes out of the kitchen fresh and warm. Residents rooms are small but adequate. You are able to personalize their rooms to suit their interests and make it homey. Most residents spend little time in their rooms unlike other facilities. Do your homework when choosing a memory care facility for your loved one. I have personally seen the difference that Homestead Living has to offer!

Homestead Living was very light. Two employees had been with them for over 10 years and one has been with them for 13 years. She seemed very happy to be there. The residents were smiling and laughing and very at peace. It seemed cleaner and the meals were better than where my mom is. They had a cook there. It had a more personal feel to it and had a recreation coordinator. They engage them in meaningful things like fold the laundry or peel the potatoes. The living quarters were a little bit smaller but clean. They had bathrooms in the hallway that they share.

Homestead runs like a family should run and my mother is treated like a family member. Homestead provides loving care for my mother and I know that the staff really loves my mother the way I love her. They see beyond her dementia and see her as the person she is inside. The staff has the patience and understanding needed to work with dementia and they do a much better job than I would. In fact, I have learned more about dementia just by watching how they work with my mother and the other residents. Would I recommend Homestead Living? Yes, most heartily. I can go about my life, my work and activities, knowing that Homestead is taking care of my mother’s life and her needs. They are providing the daily care that she deserves.

I visited my sister in Homestead, it was wonderful, beautiful, clean, and well-kept. They have underground parking, washers and dryers on every floor, and a gorgeous community room. She prepares outings for them to go to different places and shopping.
