I visited this facility

The Dogwood Village-Orange County was a great place. I've been there twice, and the manager, Patty, showed me around. It's very clean. It has lots of activities. It has a spa room, and you can work out. I'm just impressed by the facilities and the friendliness of the people there. I've known a few other assisted living places, and Dogwood Village might not be as big, but it's better. They have four or five different-sized rooms. One thing I really like, which I haven't seen in every assisted living place, is every shower or tub, whatever you want to call it, comes with the seat and the safety bars, which is good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Dogwood Village of Orange County Health and Rehab has been wonderful. We're very pleased with them. The staff is very friendly and very well trained. My stepdad is in a difficult situation, but I think they've done as good a job as can be done. Their food is good, too. He had a double room at one time where they paired him with someone that was compatible with him. Now he has a single room. The rooms are large enough. Light housekeeping comes in every day, so the room is very clean. Occasionally when they have an emergency come up, the nursing staff is not able to get there as quickly as they normally would. Other than that, it's a very clean and very cheerful place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

my sister admitted this afternoon. I have had her call me regarding no one in building can give her wifi information has to wait till monday when full staff returns. The water pitcher they gave her looks like is has been used. She called repeatedly to have someone come help her with changing due to incontinence. was told she would have to wait till they made rounds. Now it is 9:30 pm and they do not have all her night time medications. I will be transferring her ASAP to another facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend went to Dogwood Village of Orange County for rehab and my overall impression was pretty good. It's a little on the old side and most of the places where the patients were or the seniors were were very cinderblock looking. They had a nice dining room and a nice area where they meet for special occasions. They have special music come in every now and then. They're fairly active in keeping the residents occupied and busy, but they're a little understaffed. When she first went in there, they didn't have a whole lot of food selection for people who have alternate lifestyles (like people who are vegetarians). They hired a cook and it seemed to change a little bit. I didn't have any problems with the staff, but the administration sometimes was a little bit difficult to get things worked out with. The medical staff was good, and so were the in-house doctor and the nurses, the orderlies, and the food staff. The caretakers were very nice.

I visited this facility

Dogwood is extremely friendly, and clean. They didn’t have a stove, washer, or dryer inside the room. Other than that, the place is fabulous.

I visited this facility

I visited the facility and noticed it was very nice. The structure of the facility was wonderful. There are three floors in the facility in which residents reside. The employees were very friendly. I noticed a lot of positive communication between the employees and residents. The employees were professional and helped in any way they could. The dining room was very nice. I could smell food cooking and it smelled divine. I noticed fruits sitting out for residents to help themselves, also afternoon coffee for whomever to enjoy. The residents seemed happy and were enjoying activities. I saw many of the residents outside of their rooms which was good. It showed me that they enjoyed where they live. I enjoyed my visit to this facility. I observed very many good aspects. it looked like a very pleasant place to live. I would feel very comfortable with my family having to stay there.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I had experience with the SNF and NF facility portions of their program for both of my parents and found it overall very positive. The rehab staff were very good, food was excellent and the administrator is very involved and caring. They have good activities and we were treated well. Most of the nursing staff were very good to us and I would definitely use them again.
