"My dad will move in. The staff seemed very warm and welcoming. It was clean and nice. It seemed that everyone was engaged. It felt more like home. They made me feel very at ease and very welcomed. It was just very comforting. They were very pleasant. The place is very neat. They have activities at the memory care unit. They have an activities person, too. They have a courtyard. They have the things that I was interested in."

"My husband is at Evermore Senior Living, and he is getting excellent care there. Right now, there are only two residents, so it's very personalized. He's happy there, but he misses interactions with more people because there's only one other resident, and the man is not that communicative. It's very isolating for him, but I'm still very happy with the care. The facility is a new building. Everything is very clean, and they're very good about all of that. I have no complaints. Even the food is excellent. Since they only have two people, they're very good about asking him what he would like them to prepare, so he gets a lot of his own favorites served. It's also very nutritious, and the proportions are very sensible: not too much, not too little. There's only one staff member, but generally speaking, I'm very happy with the staff. They're trying very hard to keep them occupied."

"I can’t say enough glowing things about Tribute at the Glen. My dad moved here in January and they have taken such good care of him and my mother. His experience in the memory care unit at Tribute over the last two months was just phenomenal. He received top notch, loving care from every person there. My mom did too. She came to see him as much as she could and the staff and admins not only knew her, they went out of their way to make sure she was happy with the care my father was receiving and they provided a compassionate listening ear whenever she needed to process her feelings. My dad died on Tuesday and I can’t think of a more loving environment for him to have died in. Less than 12 hours after he died, a big bouquet of flowers from Tribute were delivered to my mom’s house offering condolences. If you can’t keep your loved one at home in their later years, you really can’t ask for a better place to have them spend their remaining time. The elderly are treated with dignity and respect here. They are well loved and taken care of. I’m very happy to chat details with anyone considering this facility – don’t hesitate to reach out. "

"At Marian Manor, the staff is absolutely great. The people that are living there seem really happy and well taken care of. Everyone is pleasant and you are always greeted with a smile whenever you walk in. They adapt to the patients' needs, and are very knowledgeable about what exactly goes on in there. You can actually say that it could actually be considered a home, rather than a nursing facility due to the type of feeling when you enter. Everything is close by, and would be my number one spot to recommend. "

"We found Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg for my mom. It is a very big facility with very attentive staff. They respond to any issue; it is not like you’re left alone. It was almost hotel-like and very nice. The dining area is really elegant. Everything about it is very nice. The activities are nice. They have a higher staff-to-person ratio than in most places, and you can tell that it is very well run. It is nothing like a nursing home. My mom has a two-room apartment with a bath and a kitchen. "I toured Paramount Senior Living at Fredericksburg. I liked the room arrangement, and I liked that they have a refrigerator in the room for us. The eating facility seems to be very well operated and very well managed. The staff who welcomed us was very communicative and answered all my questions. When I was given some written material, she explained what some of it meant that I wasn't sure about, so I was very pleased with the tour guide. The dining set-up was very professional, and it was a very pleasing environment."

"Harmony at Chantilly was too expensive. I couldn't afford to live there. It was a beautiful place. I would have moved in the next day if I could. It had everything that I would have wanted: meals, housekeeping, beautiful apartments, and all the facilities I needed. The tour was conducted by Natasha, and it was excellent. "We toured. We only looked at their studios. It was very homey, and it felt comfortable. However, the rooms weren't exactly what we were looking for. The tour was good. It was probably the third place we're visiting, so we were becoming more comfortable with what questions to ask. It is relatively small. They were the ones that had assigned seating at mealtimes."

"Advent Care is like a house in a neighborhood. It's a nice idea, but it wasn't quite what my aunt needed in terms of the bathroom being accessible. I think it would have been difficult for her to get around the house in a wheelchair. The lady was very helpful. Even when she knew that we weren't going to be able to do private pay, she shared resources with us on how to get financial help to try to get her into a comfortable situation. She even followed up with me later and sent me websites and stuff. It has two rooms, one has two beds, and the other only has one bed. She said her family lives there at the house, and there was a dog, which I know my aunt wouldn't like. She said that when her husband and her child are home, they help. She prepares meals, which is nice. My mom went with me, and she is in her 60s. She does have knee problems, and she had a hard time getting around. There wasn't a railing on the front step. There wasn't a ramp. She had to use the bathroom, and she had a hard time getting up off the toilet because there weren't the handicap bars where they needed to be. I wasn't comfortable with it. It is not well-equipped for someone who can't walk on their own. If they can get up and walk around, it is a nice little house, and meals are made from scratch. They had chairs and stuff outside, but it was a question of how to get them out there. There's no ramp. The lady said that they encourage them to be out and about, and they have TVs in the family room. She was very helpful, even knowing that we weren't going to be able to give them our business. She still continued to offer support, health websites, things like that to help us find a place and offered to even take my aunt temporarily for a lower price if we couldn't find a place for her to live, like if we couldn't get the Medicaid thing settled. She was a very, very nice lady. It was more physical equipment-wise that was questionable. The food looked good, like homemade fresh vegetables, chicken, that kind of thing."

"I toured Home Eldercare. The staff was pretty nice and tried to let us know what to expect there and what service they would provide. However, the only thing is that the living conditions are a little bit different than what we expected. Two people will share one unit, and the bathroom is quite tight. I'm a little concerned about sending my mom there, and that's the only thing, but the staff seemed willing to help."

"We have signed the lease to move my aunt and uncle into Harmony at Spring Hill; we are setting up furniture and everything to get ready for them. I went with them to look at the place. The staff is very friendly, we came a few times, and we know them more now, and in just a few days, they knew us. It's just like home and family. The sales rep is very friendly, very helpful, and responsive. It's very nice and clean, the apartment is larger than the other place that we visited, they have two-bedroom, two-baths, which was what they needed. It's kind of neat too, so everything was nice. One of the factors that made us decide on this besides the apartment itself was the money. They have a special for veterans they called the veterans package. They gave discounts on the rent, community fees, and they have a lot of financial incentives that make the rate much lower than others."

"The place seemed very nice. It was clean and well maintained, and the residents seemed happy and friendly. They certainly enjoyed all the carols we sang them and candy we had for them. The facility was not excessively large, but the rooms were well provisioned and not overly spartan. There wasn't anything that struck me as wrong or unkempt about the place. We toured the facility and sang carols in the main room and in some personal rooms. The place was neat and tidy and seemed to be a decent community. I wouldn't mind living there when I got older, although I still plan to live independently for as long as I am able. The food provided was not overly elaborate, but was sufficient and not too bad in the flavor department. All in all, the facility seemed alright, and I neither saw nor experienced anything untoward. It was not a bad experience. "
