When I first went to Silvercrest Senior Community I was really impressed, and I was really impressed with their manager. She's really awesome. She took me all over, gave me my tour, and answered all my questions. When I went in to see some of their units, I felt a real homey feeling. I liked the security and what they had to offer. They don't do food and I like that. I didn't want food. I like having a larger kitchen so that I can cook my own food. I really like the layout. It's three stories high. You have an option of having a garage or a covered carport. It has meditation gardens and a place where you can plant your own garden. It's a shared garden for the people. It has all kinds of activities and facilities like a beauty salon, physical fitness, a library, and a media room. The units were quite spacious. It has elevator access, which I really like, and your mailboxes are right there inside as well. They've been really good to talk to and answer my questions and are very helpful.

We toured Silver Crest Senior Community. I liked the community because the layout was good. They had a lot of walking paths. They had places to have barbecues if you wanted to. They seemed to take really good care of the properties. They have all the help from the community just across the way from them. They're a joint, they have assisted care and independent care. So, if you needed assisted care, they would be there. If you need a nurse to check on you, then the nurse could come and check on you. That's one thing I did like about it. Also, I liked the people's friendliness. The residents there were good. They looked out for each other. I saw that in their actions, like helping people downstairs, and these were residents, not staff. I was impressed that they have that camaraderie. The thing I didn't like about it was that the apartments were a little smaller than the other facility. They weren't as big, but they all had a balcony or porch. So, you could go outside if you wanted, and the staff was on the ball. I asked some residents about the food, and they said it is really good. You have cooking facilities in your apartment. So, if you don't want to cook, that's fine. But you do have an open end to their cafeteria. When I asked about it, they said they cater to what we want. They have a community questionnaire, and the community can put in an input. They do have birthday parties. So, if you have a birthday, they will have a birthday party. I thought that was really fun. They had sing-alongs, and a lot of things working with them. There were a few things that were annoying. You had some talkative people, and I know you'll never get over that, but they were talking pretty loudly, doing a puzzle, and didn't agree with each other. I thought the staff could have jumped in and quelled it a little bit, but they let it go. And of course, they figured it out after a minute or two, but I noticed a few things like that.

Silvercrest was wonderful. The lease agent called me back several times. There were all kinds of amenities. The one-bedroom apartment was large enough and beautiful. They all had a patio and a balcony. The dining room was elegant, and the kitchen was gorgeous.

My parents will be moving into Silvercrest. It is a brand new facility. It is nice and conveniently located. They offer spacious apartments. The staff there is very helpful. They do have activities but they are resident-driven and not facility-driven. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place.
