"St. Joseph Senior Apartments is really great. I haven't had a chance to move in there yet, but so far, they've been working with me really well with what I need to get. The staff was really great, and they're willing to work with you. It was really nice looking, clean, and well kept up. You have to pay for the meals separately, but the utilities, the washer, and the dryer are included."

"Legacy Village of Sugar House is very clean. They offer a lot of amenities. The one-bedroom is very, very spacious, nice, and very clean. No marks on the walls. The carpets have been cleaned. There are awesome views and happier people. The staff were very friendly and eager to assist. It's almost brand new. It's like a skyrise apartment kind of place. It's really neat. They have a good-sized gym and a beauty shop with three different chairs to get your hair done. They offer everything."

"I toured the South Jordan View Retirement Community. The community is light and bright, full of activity, and there's a lot of involvement there with the people who run the place. They had a very good chef the day I was there who cooked some delicious food, and from what the ladies were telling me, they have their reserved table towards the back of the cafeteria, and they have about eight to ten ladies that are just full of life, full of fun. I spent about two and a half hours there. We had a great time, and they were very forthcoming about living there and how much they liked it. I went and viewed one of the apartments, which was fabulous. Jimi was very caring, friendly, and open, and she wanted to do whatever she could or answer any questions to help me decide. She showed me everywhere around there. It's just a beautiful community. So that's the place I would have liked to have gone to, but unfortunately, that's too much money for me. The food was delicious. From what they told me, you could order something else. If you want a sandwich, they'll make it for you. It's like having the best of both worlds, having your place and everybody taking care of you. It's wonderful. So, I like it a lot."

"We went to look at Solstice Senior Living at Sandy. The grounds are very nice. The facility seemed very nice and well-kept. The concept of a small kitchen and getting fed is a good thing. They have a good chef there, so they understand that the food needs to be good. The place is clean all over. I think it would be a good place. Everyone is saying this is a good place for me in my old age. We are very interested. I was impressed with the library, which had big chairs. They have a few exercise machines that look good. There's a community exercise place. A senior center, I believe, is fairly close. They talked about a bus for the residents there. I met the staff, the people at the desk, the cleaning person, and the chef. They were all very nice. They all seem to understand what their function is."

"We went to Sagewood at Daybreak. It was the nicest community we visited. They had really good food. The people said hi to the staff as we walked through, so evidently they're friendly and welcoming. The only reason we didn't choose that one was that it was farther away from our children, and it was very expensive. Nevertheless, the facility was clean, nice, neat, and very new."

"I like that Cedarwood at Sandy is going to be close to family. Their food is excellent and their two-bedroom apartment is very large. They also have little cottages. Their rooms were the largest two-bedroom ones we saw. The upkeep was excellent. Their dining area was nice."

"I was very impressed. We visited during Cinco de Mayo and we saw the residents were chatting with each other. Their meeting place by the atrium was festively decorated. They also had entertainment and the residents were very into it. Their rooms were larger and had a walk-in closet. We met several staff members and they were very, very nice. The food was OK. They had a typical large variety main menu."

"This is a small facility, sixteen resident capacity, and the facility itself is not overly beautiful or anything, but this facility has a lot of heart. I've rarely seen a facility that puts as much emphasis on family then this one does. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate family visits, even if they aren't at the best times. They also invite family to all the parties and get togethers and encourage family participation. I've never visited this facility without seeing at least two or three different residents with visitors at any given time, and they're always talking and laughing and generally just having a good time. I also always see children there visiting their grandparents or great grandparents. They literally just light the place up. "

"Creekside Senior Living is gorgeous. There is a reason why that rate is the best assisted living in Utah. The activities are amazing, but my mom is an introvert, so it was a little too wow for her. It's wonderful for very active seniors who want to be involved. It's on the pricier end. A one-bedroom assisted living there is equal in cost to a studio memory care at the other place. The staff was wonderful. It gets rave reviews for good reasons. They have a little area in front that has snacks and space for you to visit with your loved ones 24/7. They do big, amazing decoration activities like Disney Week and things like that. They bring in amazing performances. They go all out. My daughter, who wanted to be a Disney princess, was like, "Oh my gosh, this is where I want to be." It's built on the property that used to be a nursery, and so the people who own the nursery turned it into this really lovely landscaped senior community. I don't know about the staff, but overall, it has the wow 5/5 factor except for affordability. I've just heard from others that the food is great."

"My aunt will move into Summerfield Retirement. It's a studio apartment with two closets and a large bathroom with a shower. The rooms were a nice size. The studio includes a little refrigerator, microwave, sink, and cupboards to put a few dishes and snacks. Dan is awesome. I went and toured it almost four years ago with my husband for his mom, and he was awesome then. I like the atmosphere. It's just different. It's a place that I wouldn't mind going to if I had to go. It's very upbeat, and they have great activities. They have service projects that they can do, like stuffed little teddy bears. They do it for two different places, and they do it every month. They have crocheting, a book club, bingo, and events in their center. In the summertime they can do a shared garden box for the assisted living facility to plant tomatoes, or do that together anywhere else. These are just some of the things and hobbies my aunt was involved in throughout her life that fit her much better than playing games or doing puzzles elsewhere. They update their carpets regularly, probably every four to five years. They keep it up, and it's a nice atmosphere. It's clean and very nice."

"It was nice. The apartment we looked at was one bedroom, and I liked it. There's no kitchen because they feed you. But there were a lot of things in the fridge. We had lunch there, and everybody was so nice. The facility was clean. I enjoyed it. It's the one I've been looking forward to. They have a book club and an exercise place. They also have individual exercises. They do take a few laps around the city. They have a beauty salon and barbershop. They have laundry that you don't have to pay for. They have parking spots listed on the driveway around the parking area for every room, so every room has its own parking. The staff was very friendly. The food was very good. The layout is good. They have a place where they have a meeting. I can't say anything bad about the whole place."

"The tour at Fairfield Village of Layton was good. They have a lot of interaction among staff and residents, but it seems to be isolated. It's not easy to get around. The staff was good. I didn't taste their food this time. I have tasted it in the past. Then it was good, but it seemed like it was a little skimpy. They didn't feed us quite as much. It's not a real old community. The building is being kept in good condition."

"Summit Vista was very nice and very well kept up, very clean, and very orderly. It was just as I would of hoped it to be. The staff during the tour was very friendly, very outgoing, and helped us considerably. We did have a chance to sample the food, and it was good. They have many different things. Facility-wise, they have a swimming pool, exercise rooms, and game rooms. They also have resident-sponsored activities, like an astronomy club, walking club, or hiking club. I think they have over 100 different clubs of that nature."

"When I first went to Silvercrest Senior Community I was really impressed, and I was really impressed with their manager. She's really awesome. She took me all over, gave me my tour, and answered all my questions. When I went in to see some of their units, I felt a real homey feeling. I liked the security and what they had to offer. They don't do food and I like that. I didn't want food. I like having a larger kitchen so that I can cook my own food. I really like the layout. It's three stories high. You have an option of having a garage or a covered carport. It has meditation gardens and a place where you can plant your own garden. It's a shared garden for the people. It has all kinds of activities and facilities like a beauty salon, physical fitness, a library, and a media room. The units were quite spacious. It has elevator access, which I really like, and your mailboxes are right there inside as well. They've been really good to talk to and answer my questions and are very helpful."
