I visited this facility

American House Hamilton Place was great, clean, professional, and spacious. It would have been great for my mom. The staff was great. The head nurse went out of her way to answer my questions. The administrator answered every question I had. They were willing to work with me on the money end of it. I can't say anything bad. It was very welcoming and warm. The dining area was clean, spacious, and inviting. The rooms were perfect.

I visited this facility

I went to American House Hamilton Place. They were very nice. Their facilities didn't seem as nice as the other place. I might have been there during downtime or something because they didn't seem to have as many activities. It just didn't seem like it would be a good fit for my mom. The staff were very nice and kind. They seemed great. I just wanted my mom to feel like she had more freedom. They had an outdoor space, but it's not that usable. It wasn't what I was looking for.

I visited this facility

I toured American House Hamilton Place. I like the staff. I like it for what it was. They are assisted living, but they have a memory care wing. So I like the fact that if they were to start in assisted living in and then they required more care, they didn't have to change facilities. I was impressed with the assisted living. But in terms of their memory care wing, I was not as impressed. The memory care was smaller and had kind of an older feel. Their assisted living side had just been remodeled, so it was nice. I like it a lot. It was very nice. The staff members were very nice, friendly, and caring. I liked the way the rooms were laid out. You had choices of semi-private, private rooms and one that was almost like an apartment. The apartment was private, but it had two rooms. There were a lot of choices that you could choose from that you could afford for your care member. People can come and go with family or whatever. But I like that they have outings. They have a nice activity room, so they have a lot of social kind of things going on, and I liked that. They did not have a hair salon, but the dining was nice. They had menu choices, but they had alternate menus if somebody didn't like what the main thing being served was. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. I met several of the staff members there, and I was impressed by all of them.

I visited this facility

American House Hamilton Place had two different memory care units and there were only ten residents in each, and I liked that. I also liked that they had a very open area when you came in, so you didn't come right into a desk. They had parlors where they did a lot of their activities. They actually had somebody there who was getting ready to do some music for the residents, and they were starting to gather residents to do that. Many of their administrative staff were also medical staff. They were very friendly and they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. It was an older building, but they were renovating quite a bit of the memory care part.

I visited this facility

I went on a tour of American House Hamilton Place, it was a nice place. They had very nice spacious rooms. It might have just been the timing of the day, but we didn't see a lot of activity going on so that wasn't very appealing to us. Most of the people were in their rooms when we started the tour until we started to leave at dinnertime. The assisted living section started coming out to the lunchroom by then, but almost everybody was in their rooms the whole time we were there. They showed us both assisted living and memory care. The admissions lady was very nice and very knowledgeable, and I liked the tour experience with her. We'd have to go back and see it once or twice more at different times just to see how much activity there is or if everybody is still staying in their rooms.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our experience with American House Hamilton Place has been good. Some personnel are better than others. The culinary director has been phenomenal. He prepares the meals. My mother has to have a special diet, and he just went over and above to see that my mother got the proper nutrition for her to continue to heal and rehabilitate. The room is great, too. It is sufficient for what we need. Mom has participated in some of the activities when she can. She has gone into the library and worked on puzzles. She has participated in some of the other games that they've had. Mom is on the second floor. The living room parlors that are separate from their rooms are downstairs. They are large rooms, and they're nicely decorated. Different people come in and do different things down there. They have different types of entertainment that come. It may be a church service and someone to play the piano. They have a cellist or a magician, too. In terms of food, I had one bite of what my mother had, and it was surprisingly very good. Mother is having a plant-based diet, and so I was surprised by the fact that it was so tasty. Mother has just raved about the food.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Patsy! We are honored to serve your family!

I visited this facility

The tour I had at American House Hamilton Place was very satisfactory. It seemed to be created towards what my needs are going to be. It was very clean and it left a good impression on me. They have a library and a very nice dining area that they use for other gatherings and programs. The hallways and so forth were easy to maneuver. I think the ratio of residents to nurses is really good.

Provider Response

My father is here. It seems like he is really doing well there. I am really pleased with all the interactions I've had with everyone there. I saw the room when he first moved in; it was a nice little room and very clean. We've had good communication, and there has not been an issue where I have not been told of anything that was going on. Overall, it has been a very good experience. They have quite a few activities going on. They do games on different nights, and they do church services within the facility. It all seemed to be set up very well.

My mom is here. It is a perfect fit for her. It's very nice, very clean, and the rooms are great sized. The food is great too. Everyone there is very caring, so it's a very good place. They do bingo and they do different activities as much as they can. They have a beauty salon, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The staff is excellent and very caring.

The memory care is a good place. The staff is very helpful and helps me do whatever needs to be done. My husband seems to like the food. He also seems to like the people. The size of the room is really nice and big. They have plenty of activities and the activity director has things for the memory care and assisted living.

I visited this facility

We got my grandmother settled in. So far, it’s good. She’s actually in their memory care facility, not within the assisted living, but it’s very homey and very quiet. They have a lot of different daily activities. I have not tried the food, but I know that she’s eating well. They’re very interested in the residents’ well being, very concerned, very caring, and very patient.

Our visit was very good. It was for my uncle and aunt. It was a two-story building. Their rooms were not that large.
