"I toured Thrive at Brow Wood. The staff was helpful. She took us on a tour and told us the different things that they do. They have a Wii and my brother used to bowl. They had a Wii with a bowling app so that he could sit in his wheelchair and act like he was bowling. The facilities were great. The layout was good. They had a lady there who helped them paint and showed them how to paint pictures. The activities director was nice. While we were there, we got to watch him. They were dancing. They were doing karaoke. That was delightful."

"NHC Health Care is a small, family like environment. The food is very good. They have Bible study, movies, and trips, and that is about it. We picked this one because of the location. It is close to family members. So far, it has been very good. I have nothing negative to say about them. They have a wonderful staff that is willing to help you in any way they can. "

"We have already moved into Hickory Valley. We like it right away. They had the availability that we needed. There were a lot of things that hit the checkboxes for us, and we were allowed to have our little dog. We couldn't have carpeting in our room because of respiratory issues, so they changed the flooring specifically. They did not require a deposit upfront. They have someone to work with us and help us all along the way. Their staff is just wonderful. As for the food, you wouldn't want any better. Our apartment is very spacious. We have our own private space, but they have a lot of social spaces, activities, and events. They have independent living and assisted living. In our case, two of us needed assisted living and one of us was able to live independently. I can still care for the needs of the assisted, but we can live in an independent unit. All day, every day, things are going on. There is typical entertainment that takes place, and then they have all types of activities. I love to work on puzzles, so they have different areas where people work on puzzles together and socialize. Then they have regular games like card games, pool tables, and bingo. Then there's a big movie room and a big screen for movie watching as a group at night if you want to go and socialize watching the movie. They have different denominations that do church service on Sundays. And for those who choose to go to, they have Bible study programs available. They have their own bus that takes people out to do their shopping if they choose to because everybody has their own kitchenette. If you don't have transportation of your own, they provide transportation to and from the doctors and to and from big events. Even though we have an independent unit, they have maid service that goes along with it. Someone comes in and strips the beds, launders your bed for you, remakes your bed, and cleans your apartment once a week, so you don't have to do that. They have a garbage service. Just about everything you could imagine is provided for. The money is worth it. It's still coming in under what we were paying for a typical apartment living. There's a garden where tenants grow their own flowers and vegetables. The kitchen staff are choosing vegetables from the garden space to cook with the meals. They have a beautiful, covered space outside for shaded seating, a sunny patio on another side, and a huge front porch area. The entrance of the building is set up like a huge porch, so people gather and sit out there together."

"I moved into East Ridge Residence. So far, I've had a good experience with them. The basic rent includes utilities and one meal a day, but you can pay another $150 a month and get two meals a day. The rent is lower than in other places that I checked out. You're allowed a pet up to 25 pounds. They have activities, like bingo. It's a nice place and I like it. The food is excellent. It's like a sit-down restaurant. You sit down there, they come out, and they take your order. They have options that you can choose, like a sandwich or any one of the meals."

"We toured Everlan of Hixson. We just thought it was a nice place. The staff was very nice, the food was very nice, and it was a desert-type food. The facility was new, and it's only been there a couple of years."

"Charter Senior Living of Chattanooga is a God-Send. When I come to visit my friend, I can see the difference. The staff care and go out of their way to interact with her and make sure she's taken care of. Wonderful activities, and the chef has been there forever. He makes very good food. Reasonably priced and the new renovations are beautiful. I would definitely reccommend."

"I went to Garden Plaza of Green Briar Cove. I didn't interact a lot with the staff there, but the person who was helping me was very good. The general manager gave me a tour. I can't believe he did that because the person I had the appointment with had to leave, and so he took her place. The place was outstanding, too. I saw the menu, and it looked good. The place was very clean and very neat."

"Alexian Grove was very nice and the people were very pleasant. We saw a very nice two-bedroom, two-bath. The place was more of a community. It's a beautiful area and very scenic. It's also very clean."

"My mom is in Woodland Village. It is a hundred percent. They have one-bedroom and two bedroom apartments. She is in a one-bedroom, and it is very nice. She cooks her own food. They have two events a week, and they then they have dinners on holidays. They do bingo, they play penny auctions and they do other stuff like that. The staff is very helpful and attentive. She is very happy there. The way they keep the apartments up stands out to me. They are very clean, and the manager that runs it is really down to earth and is very helpful with my mom. I like it because I feel that she is safe there. "

"We toured the Garden Plaza in Cleveland. It had cottages, which we really liked. They were independent. They had apartments, and they also had assisted living. They had a lot of activities, and the buildings were nice. It was in a good location. The staff was excellent. The food was very good too. It was one of the best places, but a little expensive."
