"I would give Towne Club Windermere a five all the way around. That was my favorite place, but it is set up more like an apartment building. It's a tower and you had to get on an elevator, and Mom wasn't comfortable with that, but the rooms were fantastic. They were like regular-size apartments. They have a beautiful pool, a garden area, a movie room, a hair salon, and tour buses that would take you to the grocery stores and stuff. Any amenity that you could think of they had there. They did social hour; you come down in the main room and have appetizers and things like that. They go from independent living all the way to memory care. The staff during the tour was very, very attentive. She showed us several different sized rooms and she gave us the pricing. She made sure that we had all the meals. She let us taste the meals, which were very, very good. She took us around. She was very patient with Mom and Dad. We actually sat down around the pool with some of the people there, and we were able to talk to the residents there, ones that were in wheelchair and ones that were a little bit more independent. My concern then at that point in time was finding a place for both my Mom and Pop and Pop to be more active. The staff introduced Pop to some of the guys there that still play golf and things like that, so he really felt comfortable there. It was Mom that was not at the time, that's why we didn't do so. We actually were there three times and we signed a contract with them twice. Mom just didn't think she could do that elevator. She didn't feel comfortable with it."

"I will be moving into Brookdale Chambrel Roswell. I was impressed because it was an open area. There are a lot of walking areas around it. I just like the way they set it up. There was a garden that you could walk through. They have a swimming pool. I like the people that I've met there. I had lunch there twice, and I was very impressed. The staff was very helpful. She called me several times in between. I liked her a lot. I met some of the residents there. They all had positive things to say. They were all very nice. They have all kinds of activities. They are busy all the time. You could stay busy 24 hours a day. They have crafts. They have a lot of people who play cards there. The minute I walked in, I felt that it was the place for me. I liked it."

"Mounia, our chef at Atria North Point, is doing a wonderful job providing the residents a variety of choices for meals. She mixes with the residents at mealtime making sure everyone is satisfied with their meal. She manages with great culinary team and they work very hard to meet each individual needs."

"Vickery Rose Retirement Community was friendly and welcoming. The manager was very kind and open. The person at the front desk was also very kind. They gave me a calendar of activities, and it seemed like they had a variety of things to do each day that involved the mind, body, and spirit. They had physical activities, mental activities, social activities, game rooms, and a theater. There were lots of opportunities for self care, like getting your hair done, your feet done, or getting therapy. The apartments were good size. They were bigger than some I've seen. I could see myself living there."

"Celebration Village Forsyth comes off as a cleaner, more lively, and more active community than some of the other facilities. It's bright in appearance. It's more cheerful. The rooms are bigger. They're more spacious. They have bigger kitchens. Everybody we ran into was very pleasant and helpful."

"My mom is now at Holly House. It has been an awesome experience. Five minutes after we got there, she ditched the wheelchair and she started walking again. She got some independence. They help her with the issues that she needs. It could not have been a better process. The gentleman who showed me the different places was amazing. It was home-run basically. It stood out way, way above the rest. The food smells good, and my mom has no complaints. The staff knows her well. She knows what my mom can eat and what she likes and they cook everything there, so it is amazing. The staff has been fantastic. The place is sparkling clean, and it fits my mom's needs. They actually moved her to a bigger room when they had a chance. She now has an access to a bathroom off of her room. They're going above and beyond to try to help her. I highly recommend this place."

"I enjoyed Belmont Village Johns Creek. They were friendly and personable. It was a nice place. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and friendly. She knew what she was talking about. I would feel comfortable having my mother-in-law go there. The apartments were unfurnished, but they were nice. They have little balconies and screened-in porches, which were good. They have a little kitchenette. It wasn't like a high rise, and I liked that. It was like a village, so that was good. I looked at the dining area and it looked nice, they had a little cafeteria and cafe. They have a courtyard and a large outdoor area where you can hang out. I like that it's smaller than the other place we visited."

"I toured the Phoenix at Union Hill. It's very nice, and they were very good. I enjoyed the tour. They have good food. They're all women, and there weren't enough men there. They've got a lot of amenities. They have a pool. They've got everything: independent living, memory care, and assisted living. It's a beautiful place. It's bigger and has more people, and their staff was excellent."

"We toured Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care Ellijay and my dad liked it. The place was very nice. The dining area was nice looking and it looked comfortable. We got to see the menu for the week, and there were a lot of choices. My dad saw a lot of food that he liked. They told him about breakfast and he was excited about that. The rooms were large and spacious, with plenty of storage. The closet was a good size. We saw the activities area and they had a lot of activities planned. We spoke with one of the residents and he was very happy there."

"1 bedroom apt very small. My sister wasn’t prepared for how small it was. The tour was very nice and they had various move in specials. The person giving the tour also showed us 2 other apartments."

"My mother moved into The Arbor at BridgeMill. It is very nice. It looks like an apartment complex. Inside, there are a lot of amenities for her to enjoy. Something is going on every day. I mean, she's busy all day, and that's what we wanted. She's playing cards, she went to a costume party, they played music and she was dancing. It's just like living in a small apartment, basically, and that's what we like about it. Mom's pre-diabetic, so they honor that in her diet. They give her a selection, like a menu, so it's not just a set meal that everybody's eating. She could have fish today and everybody else might have chicken or something else. I've only eaten there one time, and it was good. Everybody is very friendly, and the staff there looks like they enjoy their jobs and they're happy to be there. They've been very helpful with my mom. They just have the demeanor to be friendly and kind to the residents. They seem to know them by name in just a short time, and they are respectful. Mom's apartment is very nice and very clean. It's got upgraded cabinetry, a big walk-in closet, and a stacked washer and dryer in the facility. So, she didn't have to go down to the laundry room. It's a compact little apartment just for her, and it's perfect. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a place."

"We saw the dining room at the Spring House at Cartersville. The rooms are still being renovated, and because of the renovations it wasn't safe to go view the rooms. But they had pictures of the rooms, and the pictures looked very nice. We got to see the place where they would be doing crafts, projects, and all kinds of entertainment for the residents. It was all very nice. I think it was a hotel that was renovated for assisted living. They sat down and talked with us, they showed us the pictures, and we got pamphlets. We got all kinds of verbal information and written information that we could take home with us. The staff we met were very intelligent. They were telling us all kinds of information, showing us the projects that they had been working on, and showing us the crafts that they have for the residents, some of the plans they have for the future, and things for them to do. What we saw was great. They also have patios, and they have a pool that's being reconstructed so that it can be used for water aerobics."

"My mom was a resident of HearthSide Towne Lake. There is nothing that I can say negative about it. They were very, very good to her. It is just a nice place to live. They have activities for the seniors, and everyone that lives here enjoys it. The manager is fantastic. My mother didn't participate, she stayed to herself and did things with me. But I know that I have a little gym here and they were always having things for the people here. They have a small gym, a beauty salon, a library, and a media center. They do not provide meals; you do your own meals. They have a fantastic area where you can have parties with your family in the very front of the building. Of course, you have to do a reservation for it, but it's a nice area with a piano. The area down there is with granite countertops, and I would rate that as a 5."
