My husband and I are living in the independent living community of Manor Lake Dawsonville. One of the things I like the most is that they call the apartments cottages, but they're fourplexes, and each has almost twice the square footage that any other place seems to have. Everybody else seems to have 800 square feet for a 2-bedroom and 2 baths, maybe 1,000 square feet max. We have 1,600 square feet, plus we have a front porch and a back patio, so it's very nice that way. It's a very nice place and I like it a lot. The only thing is that it's all outdoors, so when you go to get your one meal a day, you have to be out in the weather, and for my husband, that's a bad thing. The place is very nice and the people are super friendly. They have assisted living and memory care in a building on the campus. They give priority to you, but you still have a waitlist to get in. They have a bus that takes you where you want to go for doctor's appointments and outings. They have games and social things, too. What I don't like is that the food is terrible, but it seems to be the only criticism you really get from this place. Other than that, they provide maintenance, cleaning, internet, DirecTV, and those types of things. For the price, it's probably one of the best places there is. It's just too far away from our relatives, basically, from any family. The cottages are also outdoors instead of being inside the building, which I didn't realize would make that big of a difference, but it does now.

Manor Lake Dawsonville was so well thought out that it just blew my mind. They had a nice kitchen. The bedrooms were a good size. The bathroom could be gotten from the hall or from the bedroom, and the same way with the master. The master has the baths. It's fabulous. The kitchen is great. There's a dining area and then there's the living room. There's a porch on the back and a little porch on the front. I just think it's wonderful. I would recommend it to anybody. They have everything. There is a washer-dryer, stove, microwave, and refrigerator. They don't have rooms, they have houses. They are all in a row, but they're bigger than a tiny home. It's like a regular house. They have a beautiful dining room and a game room. It's very well done. The lady who lived in the place allowed them to show her apartment. So, I saw it furnished with furniture in it and it was just beautifully done. The lady was so sweet and so nice. She took me all around and showed me the place. They have one meal and it's lunch. They have a maintenance guy that'll do anything. Anything that needs to be fixed, they're there and they give that. It's certainly new, but independent living is already full. The waiting list could be six months or less. It just depends.

We were very pleased with what we saw at Manor Lake Dawsonville and the fact that it had a garage was a very tempting factor as having prepared meals. It was only one meal a day, but they give you the option of getting your meal for carryout, so that was good because that way, you could go pick it up and have it later if you wanted to. The people there were very nice. The apartment was very roomy for our needs. It was just a little bit further from our family member that we were trying to move close to.

I visited Manor Lake Dawsonville. They were extremely friendly, helpful, clean, and inviting; I was very impressed. The food was very good. The staff was great, I liked them very much. They have a wide variety of activities, and they publish a monthly schedule, so you can partake of what you want. They've got a wide variety of stuff from religious, to social, to mental acuity, all that kind of stuff.

Manor Lake Dawsonville is huge and has nice big rooms. It's very clean and affordable. There are lots of activities. My mom has done workouts, painted, gone to happy hour, and watched movies. They also have a hair/nail salon, dentist, physical therapy services, and a craft room. The meals they get (three times a day) are geared towards low sodium and heart-healthy diet, so it's good for them.

Manor Lake Dawsonville's is a brand new facility, very clean, very bright, and very open. The staff was very accommodating and nice. The lady who ran it spent time with me. She was delightful. As far as the independent living goes, it was very, very nice. It was an excellent location. It was spacious with new appliances and new amenities. It looked like it had literally was just popped out yesterday. It was very brand new, very current, and very clean. The rooms at the assisted living were a little smaller than other places I had seen, but still very clean, very up to date, and bright. The staff was very nice as well, but I felt like the rooms were like 10 percent smaller than some of the other rooms that I had looked at. Their activities and amenities were wonderful. They had everything under the sun. They have massive calendars, and they may have had the biggest calendar of activities of any of the places that I saw. They have everything. They are located right across the street from a major shopping area with the outlet mall. They're in an area where they're sort of off the road, but they have a lot of things around them. They have cards, meals, crafts, games, movie night activities, yoga, exercise, and field trips. I thought they were certainly top notch. It wasn't as fancy as the other place I saw, but everything about it (including the location) is better. There's a main hall that's huge with a vaulted ceiling, and it's very pretty, very open, and very airy.

The layout of Manor Lake Dawsonville was very good, up-to-date, and roomy. It was just very good. The staff was very pleasant and very informative. It was very clean and brand new. Everything was easily accessible. They had different rooms; some of them had two separate bedrooms, one bedroom, and some were just studios. It depends on what you wanted. There was no single room situation, but each of them seemed like a good layout and easily accessible.

Manor Lake Dawsonville is a brand-new facility. We liked the location and the community itself, and it's pretty nice there. We met some of the staff, and one of them was the maintenance guy. He's a really good guy, and the two ladies were very nice, very pleasant, and very engaging too. They have religious services, they accept pets, and they have a barbershop and a beauty salon.
