"Antebellum James Burgess was a very good place. The room was not bad, and they provided you with everything, but the price was high. They had a library, an exercise room, and a card game room. They didn't have a swimming pool. The dining area was clean, and the staff was OK. They were mostly helping the residents while I was there. "

"I love Celebration Village Forsyth. We have eaten there twice and the food is stunning. Their service and employees are stunning. It is mostly young people. Our visit was good. We like the size of their apartment. The amenities and the meals are the biggest things to us. Right now, we couldn't afford to move into the independent, but I loved them when we walked in the door. We just felt at home. They have the chef cook our meals."

"Belmont Village Johns Creek was a nice place and the room I saw was a pretty nice size. The road is out of the way and the area is very quiet. The staff was very friendly and very nice to work with."

"I found the Oaks at Hampton to be really good for my mom. The staff members are very good. They have all kinds of activities for the seniors; they take them out shopping, and they have bingo and different more activities that they do. They can probably provide quicker assistance when needed. "

"Sunrise of Johns Creek is not a newer facility, but it was clean. The rooms were nice and spacious. She showed me two different types of rooms. I don't have anything negative to say about them. The young lady was very personable. The young lady at the sunrise stated, okay, well, we're going to perform our own evaluation, or if the notes are sufficient, we'll go from there. So they ended up going by the notes and they stated that the amount of care that my cousin will need is more extensive than what they're able to provide. And she called me verbally to give me this information. The room was bright and spacious. They have tiered type care. That was good as well."

"Heartis Suwanee was very clean and the place was nice. The only drawback for us was even though it wasn't that far from Downtown Atlanta, the highway and getting around and getting to the place, the traffic was kind of messy. The dining facilities looked very nice. The other features there in terms of salon and gym and stuff all looked appealing. The rooms were OK, size-wise. The amenities looked sufficient for us. They're nearby restaurants and shopping malls."

"I visited Brookdale South Lee Buford, and the place was comparable to others. My mom didn't choose this place because it has more traffic compared to the other places. I think the activities included trips to Walmart, games, and movie nights. When I went to visit there, some of the residents were playing cards. They had a nice, little dining area for the residents to go in and choose off a menu. I liked that they could circle what they wanted. They also had other options if you didn't like the main courses. "

"I toured the Regency House of Buford. Everyone we met was very accommodating and very personable. The person we talked to was very good. They showed us the whole thing. They showed us where they eat and where they have activities. They showed us their apartments. It was a very positive one. We saw the studio and one-bedroom apartments. They have a calendar full of activities. All of them were the same. They all have morning devotions and exercises at 10:00 a.m.. They go out for lunch once a month or once a week, something like that. It was well-maintained, and the staff was very helpful."

"Village Park Alpharetta would have been my second choice. However, my kids would be unhappy because it was a little far from them. They were super nice, though. It had everything. It had a pool. It was super awesome. The people were really friendly. It was just really amazing. It was beautiful. They were adding on, and they had such a big crowd of people. Everybody was really nice and kind. It was great. I would have gone there very easily, but my son was like, "It was too far, Mom!" I guess he's right. The staff was wonderful. We had a luncheon there, and it was amazing. It was great. They gave us a menu and said, "Pick anything you want," and I was looking at it, and it was 'Wow!' I had a hamburger, and it was great. The place was spotless. It was beautiful. Because they had filled up the other area, we were going to be in a brand new area, and it was really pretty. Our unit would have looked out over a garden kind of thing."

"I went to Inspired Living at Alpharetta. The facility was beautiful. It was very clean. It was very nice. They had therapists and doctors on site, so that was pretty nice. That is something we're not used to in Mississippi, so that is a good thing. The rooms were really nice. I saw several of the rooms. I like the fact that they cater the bathroom area to a person that needs that. There's no stepover things in the shower, it's just a walk in. You don't have to step over the edge or anything like that. It was also very roomy. You could get a wheelchair in there if you needed to. I liked that they worked to get their residents out of their rooms on a daily basis, and I think that's important. They did a really good job with the tour. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable. She was able to answer most of our questions, and those that she couldn't answer she got answers for. She was very proactive when it came to answering questions and getting information for us. We looked at the dining area and saw their menus. Another plus was that they had their own kitchen staff people. They don't outsource that. They cook it there and they have their own chef, so that's a big plus. The place was gorgeous, very clean, and very nice. We looked out back and they got a pool and everything back there, so that was nice."

"I visited The Oaks at Alpharetta, it was very friendly and inviting. It seemed like they had a family atmosphere. The rooms were very nice and clean. They had a lot of different activities for the residents in the memory care section. The activities director was very welcoming as well. I did not have the time to try a meal, but they offered. They had a garden area for memory care patients. They have different stations for them to work in during the day. They had amenities that they could use. Their dining room area was separated from their activities area. They had a different set of objects that the residents could hold if they felt anxious."

"Atria North Point was nice and very pretty. The rooms and people seemed nice, it's just that it's too big and has too many residents for my father. The visit was well, and I liked it. The staff was very nice, friendly, and informative, and it seemed like a really nice place. "

"My husband has moved into Magnolia Senior Living at Dawsonville. It's been very good. I went and toured it. I was impressed with the people, the caregivers there, and the level of care that the residents were receiving. It made me feel confident. The staff is very loving and caring. The food is excellent. The selection is excellent and the quality is top-notch. It's beautiful, well-kept, and it's new. They only opened in July. They have exercise. On Wednesday mornings, they have a minister who comes in and does a service. They make cookies. They're always doing something. They have games they play like tossing a ring. They keep them pretty entertained. The only drawback of that is if the resident does not want to participate, but they do try to encourage participation."
