The Best Senior Living Communities in Arlington, TN

"Brookdale Dogwood Creek is the place we selected for my mom. We are still in the process of moving, but they have made it a wonderful experience and accommodated us in every way they could. My mom is qualified for assisted living but because she is recovering from a stroke, we are going to start out in memory care. The energy and the focus that they have on people with special needs is amazing. She has aphasia and not dementia, so she is very aware of what's going, and they were able to grasp all of it. She knows what's going on, it's just communicating back her words are scrambled, so it is mistaken for dementia or Alzheimer's, but it's actually not and the person is very well aware of what's going on. They were able to grasp that. The staff has just bent over backwards. Honestly, they're very focused on the people that live there and what's best for them. I'm forever grateful for that. Their food is delicious. We actually looked at the facility before her stroke, and I have looked at a lot of property, so I'm very impressed. There's a lot of energy, that's why I was choosing the memory care from Anthony who is the activities director on the memory care side. They're just very focused on keeping everybody going, especially with COVID-19. They're just very focused on taking care of people. They also know the people that are living there; they know them by name, and that's a big deal because a lot of facilities I go to don't seem like they know the patients. These people know them by name and it's very impressive. The food is good. The cleanliness is a five and the layout is a four."

"Brookdale Germantown was a very beautiful community. They are small, the staff interacts with the patients. I had the chance to interact with one of the CNAs, and she allowed us to see one of her patient's rooms. And what I enjoyed about being able to see that was, I was able to see the level of care that she put into caring for her resident. The room was very neat and clean. Even though the resident was not in the room, it was still clean. She went in, if she had things laying around, she picked up. She also laid her clothes out for the next couple of days, which I thought was pretty cool. So the residents didn't have to worry about trying to figure out what to put on or to get themselves dressed for the next couple of days, that was already done for her. So they take a lot of time with their residents, and I loved that. I could see they were getting lunch ready when we visited, so they weren't quite done, but the food did smell good there. So I was very pleased overall with that. I'm looking forward to speaking to the executive director. However, the royals are price-wise on the high side of our budget. However, they were willing to provide us with information on other programs that would assist in costs, which I thought was a good thing."

"I toured Sycamore Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. They were very nice. The rooms and the amenities were also nice. What I want right now is one where I can start in independent living because I can take care of myself right now. But I'd like to know that I could step down to the assisted living when I need to. There was not any step down there, and that is something that I didn't like about it. Other than that, I was impressed with it. It was clean. The staff member who took us on the tour was very nice. We had a meal there and it was very good and very healthy. It would make me be healthy. They said you have the option of choosing your dessert, and I ordered a lemon square, and it was only about an inch on each side. I know that they're trying to do what's healthy for you. It was very well prepared and I would approve of that."

"I went to Belmont Village Senior Living Memphis for a tour, and they were all very nice and very thorough as far as what they provided. The rooms were very nice and were much larger in both memory care and assisted living. When you walk in, it was just very clean, very nice, and had music playing. The nurse that came out and talked to me was great too."

"From the first time I stepped in the door of Story Point, I have had nothing but a positive experience. I was most impressed that the executive director took time from his busy schedule to meet me that day. My husband, my senior dog and myself settled into our comfortable apartment and began enjoying the amenities. Room service, the Bistro, happy hour with entertainment, additional help from the enhanced living facility, and daily activities to name a few. Everything done with smiles from staff! My favorite part of the day is gathering for dinner. Since I no longer enjoy cooking, having a beautiful, healthy, and delicious meal delivered to a table of friends is the best! "

"My wife's cousin is now at The Summit of Germantown. She has been there for a week now. It's excellent. It couldn't be better. I like the beautiful wide hallways. It's easygoing and secure. Excellent staff. My wife's cousin's room is adequate and essentially brand new. It's a bedroom, a kitchen, and a little living room. It's very nice. The dining area is very nice, too. My wife's cousin is happy with the food. The places we visited were very impressive. But it came down to a financial decision, and that's why we chose The Summit of Germantown. They're accommodating."

"Royal Retreat was nice and the administrator was awesome. She gave me a full tour of the building to see which areas would accommodate my aunt and I was very pleased with it. The apartment was just a bit small. If you only really needed a place for the residents to stay and be safe, then I guess it would accommodate, but my aunt was in a wheelchair. Also, I did not find it accommodating with the amount of money that we were going to pay every month, plus cable, plus utilities. I thought it was all kind of wrapped into that one overall cost. It was like $1400 a month plus cable, plus utilities. The apartment had a small refrigerator and a stove so you could buy food, but if you didn't feel like cooking, you could purchase the food cart where you could eat in the dining room area with what they served everybody else at the center. That was like $450 a month. They offered activities. One lady showed me something that she was knitting. I was excited to see that there was an onsite laundry room and an onsite beauty shop, too. When you walked in, the front area was very nice and they had security."

" Both of my parents are now residents, at Gallaway Health. They both had lived with me for three years. I had been their full-time care giver. The time had come, that I alone, could not give them the care they need. This realization and the decision to find them a home, was very difficult. It’s something no one wants to face. "Given Hands is awesome. My dad is just a little bit too much to handle, but the lady who takes care of him, who is a nurse, is very good. She explained everything well. She tells you exactly what she does, when they eat, and she keeps him on a schedule. She has her rules that they're supposed to follow. She is awesome. I like her. Dad's been eating stuff that he has never eaten before. The place is clean. She has a small exercise room for any residents who need to exercise. She cooks out for them outside if they want to have it. I like the place. No bad smells. They are one of the best places I've seen in a while. She works with people with their financial situations, too. I know that much because she has worked with us. My dad doesn't have that much money coming in every month like some of her other residents."

"I'm satisfied with Rainbow Healthcare. This home has a very friendly atmosphere. They have pretty colors on their front door. The room that I have is big and painted blue. The staff members are really nice people. They are also very helpful. During craft time, I'm not very artistic but it turned out to be quite fun. What I don't like about this place is their food. They always serve mashed peas. They are supposed to make good meals. "

"When you walk into the door of The Kings Daughters and Sons, someone would say good afternoon or good evening. You can’t walk down the hall without the staff member recognizing you and calling by your name. They locked the doors at 7 o’clock; if they don’t know you are not getting in that door. They take care of the place and the residents that are there. It’s a clean facility, and the residents are clean too. It’s like they are caring for a baby. There are two people to a room, the floors are tiled, and they have a good amount of room to themselves. "

"My sister-in-law is staying in assisted living at Culpepper Place. It's lovely and brand-new. It's only about half full now since it has only recently opened. Everybody we met seemed content and happy. They have bingo, small-group games, and bigger-group games for people engage in, and they have prizes. The rooms are beautiful. I looked at what was on the snack bar, and there were mostly fruits, some crackers, and juices. The dining area is lovely. "
