"My husband moved to Stratford Place. It's wonderful having him there because I don't have to worry about him getting up, wandering away in the middle of the night, and not hearing him. The staff was very nice. They go out of their way to help the residents. They're all very friendly. It has two big bay windows, one on the side and one in the front. The room is huge with a large bathroom. They have an outside area where they can go out and sit that is locked down so you don't have to worry about them. They have a doctor who comes in whenever they need them."

"I toured Oaks at Charleston. It was great, and my overall experience was fine. The one-bedroom and two-bedroom were more of an apartment size, but they were sufficient for what I was looking for. The place was clean. They showed me the dining area, and it was fine. The staff was great and friendly."

"I toured Brookdale West Ashley. The staff was wonderful. I might have considered it if it had been located on this side of town. They showed me a studio. It was tiny, and it's not much more than what they cost. The sales manager, Melissa was nice, and I like the place."

"We chose Harmony at West Ashley. It had pretty much everything that we were looking for, from independent living to assisted living to memory care. It was a very nice facility. It had a lot of amenities. We got a two-bedroom apartment. The people I talked to when we were visiting all seemed to like it there. We found it a good place, and we have friends who live a mile and a half away from there. The staff was adequate. The rooms and dining area were very nice. I looked at the menus, and I thought the food selection looked pretty good. They have two libraries, a gym, a movie theater, a card room, a pub with an outside patio, outside grills if you want to grill things, and parking if you want to take your own car. The facility was very nice, clean, new, and modern."

We know that no facility can be like home, but Ashley Gardens was as close to a home that we could find for our dad. The level of care provided by Ashley Gardens is outstanding. Our dad was loved and cared for until he passed. We were also pleased with the quality of food and dining room and we loved that he could enjoy every meal with friends. "We toured The Oaks at Daniel Island and spoke with the director over there. We found out that the amount that it was going to cost to put my mother there was just going to be a little bit out of our budget. The actual facility was beautiful. However, I'm not confident at all that my mother would not get lost in there. It was huge, there were lots of halls, and there was not a lot of people walking around. It was stunning. There were a lot of amenities. The studio apartments were very nice. I had no problem with the actual facility at all. I would love to be able to put my mother there. If they say she's getting a little bit worse and needs a little bit more attention, then the price could go up significantly. Jerry was very nice, and knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. I met one resident and he allowed us to look into his apartment to see how it was set up, and he was very kind. There was no one in the dining area. There were a few people in the craft area, but we did not meet the residents there. That was another thing that kind of scared us, that my mother would be wandering around. and it was just a huge facility with big beautiful clean hallways. It was kind of empty. That thought made us think that it would scare my mother, that she would feel like she was in there by herself, without having a bunch of people around. It was a personal concern as far as my mother's mindset right now. It didn't have anything to do with the facility. The facility itself was beautiful. I wish it would have worked out for us."

"Dayspring provided excellent care for my cousin for the six months that she was there. I have had experiences with two different corporate-owned facilities. Although those facilities were "prettier" than Dayspring in Hollywood, there were problems with communication and staff turnover (including management). Conscientious owners on-site make a huge difference; my cousin received more individual attention and communication was seamless. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facility is always spotlessly clean. Highly recommended."

"We liked Daniel Pointe Retirement Community very much. The girl was very good, very nice on the telephone all the time. We went to the place, and were very impressed with it, but it's much farther away from downtown Charleston. The people we met that lived there were very friendly, all nice, and they came up to me. They have a live-in manager there. I would go over there. The apartments are very nice, we did have lunch there, which was very good, lots of healthy salad, and three hot things to choose from. It's pretty new. They showed us the room where they had the art classes, they also have a library, and the rooms were very nice. They all had balconies, except for the first floor which had patios."

"Oaks at Mt. Pleasant is memory care. They have a big number of staff per patient. Most of the people there are patients because they mostly have Alzheimer's. That was impressive. It's renovated, so it's a little fresher looking than most other places."

"My sister is in Cooper River Assisted Living. We looked at it and met with the director. It was clean. The director was very accommodating and informative. We looked at a room that was a corner room with two windows and a small refrigerator, and it had security, which we like because we fear that she would walk out. She seems to enjoy doing the activities there. They do her laundry and meals, and she's got a TV. She can bring in her own furniture. A big selling point for us was the fact that she wears a wristband, and she can't just walk out the front door. An alarm will go off. Also, we met some of the staff at the front desk, and it was like a nice open lobby. This was more conveniently located for us, too. Price-wise, it was more within her budget. They've been great, so the price is workable for now. She seems happy there. It is smaller than the other place that she was in."

"I toured Mount Pleasant Gardens Memory Care Community. It was very nice and clean, and everybody was very friendly. It was very nice because they showed me all the different parts and things like that. There was one group that was doing some crafts, but that's all I saw that day."

I would recommend this facility to anyone as they treat each resident as if they were their own family! The rooms were great and the food was even better.
