"The people here are the most caring. They keep me posted on what happens every day and sent me pictures of my husband today because I could not go there. They take good care of him. It is a caring community, like a family. They have a parties and bingo, and the pictures today look like they are having a party because they have balloons. They take them to Walmart and different places and to the doctors. I just can't believe how great they are, all of them."

"We went here for a visit, and mom loved it. She had some friends that are there, and it was nice. The place was lovely, and the rooms were very nice."

"We chose Southwinds for my mom. I like that it's a small family-owned and operated facility, so it feels very home-like and caring. Each resident has their own room. The staff is fine. Their food is very good, country-style cooking, and my mother is eating like a horse. They have limited activities, but I know they do play a little bit of bingo and do some exercises. We are very pleased, and my mom is very happy in this place. "

"Wildewood Downs is a very clean place. I was very impressed with that. They have large rooms and very good, polite, and professional staff. The private rooms had a lot of closet space. It had a TV, a dresser, a chair and a nightstand. The social worker, whom I toured with, said that I would have the option to bring my own furniture to make my husband feel at home, but the furniture they had was already nice so we chose that. They do recreation by individuals or groups. Even though my husband is bed bound, they say they can put him in one of those little bed bound wheelchairs and bring them out with others if he wishes to, instead of having to do the activities in his room. They had OT, PT, a social worker, a pharmacist, as well as nursing round the clock. The social worker who toured me was excellent, and the facility is just beautiful."

"We were impressed with Joshuas Foundation. The young lady that gave us the tour was pleasant. The assistant director was the one that sat down with us, and she was able to answer our questions and provide us with all the information we needed. She was very helpful. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the place. The location was a nice secluded area. I was particularly very impressed at the fact that it was fenced off to prevent people from wandering. They also had secured exits inside the facility that prevented people from leaving unnoticed."

"My husband is at Life Care Center of Columbia. The staff is friendly, compassionate, and helpful. The facility is beautiful and very clean. When you walk in, you wouldn't think you were in a nursing home because it doesn't have odor. It's very pleasant. The food, the majority of the time, is tasty. It looks like you want to eat it because they put it on the plate organized, it just looks good. He's in a private room, and it's big. It's very clean and housekeeping keeps it neat and clean."

"Great care at this well appointed Residence that emcompasses Independent, Assisted Living, Memory Unit, Advanced Skilled Nursing and Rehab. The wonderful staff treat the residents like they are their own family. The chef encourages residents to share their favorite choices of meals and fixes them for them. She produces wonderful meals on holidays. The residence is set in a lovely wooded setting, plenty of space to go for walks. I am so pleased with their care of my husband in the Memory Unit and I often have delicious meals with him in the main Dining Room. I have made new friends among the residents and always feel happy to arrive there! "

"My father stayed at The Palmettos of Parklane's memory care unit. They had caring staff and lots of activities. It's a bright facility, and they kept the residents safe. They did a lot of arts and crafts, dancing, and movie watching, basically, things that were appropriate for people with dementia. The facility was very nice, big, bright, and white. It was light and airy with nice big halls and nice big bathrooms. The location was very nice, too. They're on a busy road, but they had nice landscaping. "

The food seems to be reasonable, and they have really nice people working there. The activities were nice. She played Bingo and did exercise. "

"It looked clean, the people looked happy, and I thought the rooms were very nice. It's convenient to where we live. I thought the person who took me around was very nice. They showed me the sunroom, I saw where the dining room was, and it had nice sitting rooms so you could go someplace other than your bedroom. They also have a garden outside where you could sit. The dining room was light and airy, and it was clean and not too cluttered with stuff. I didn't see a lot of medical equipment or anything like that lying around, too many chairs that have been left behind, or anything like that. I thought it was very good; I liked it when I walked in."

"My mother never wanted to go to a "nursing home". That was her biggest fear. After a stoke, broken hip and subsequent strokes, I had no choice but to put her in assisted Living. We spoke to several centers and chose Covenant Place because it was close to where the family home is and also they have an in-facility rehab. Covenant wasn't the least expensive, but you cannot put a price on your parents care. After doing some long soul searching, we chose Covenant. No one really wants to leave their home and go into assistant living. It took my mother around a year to settle in. Her health is so much better than it would be if she had stayed in the home. She would have had to have home sitters that she didn't know and we tried that before and it really didn't work. I could go on and on, but please call Covenant Place and talk to them if you have a loved one in this situation. They have changed my Moms life. The Directors, care givers, activity staff, nurses are top notch and my mom has made so many new friends. Just last night, she attended an Art show at the center, with many of her old friends she has not seen in a long while.She has so much more activity than she has had in years.
