"Great care at this well appointed Residence that emcompasses Independent, Assisted Living, Memory Unit, Advanced Skilled Nursing and Rehab. The wonderful staff treat the residents like they are their own family. The chef encourages residents to share their favorite choices of meals and fixes them for them. She produces wonderful meals on holidays. The residence is set in a lovely wooded setting, plenty of space to go for walks. I am so pleased with their care of my husband in the Memory Unit and I often have delicious meals with him in the main Dining Room. I have made new friends among the residents and always feel happy to arrive there! "

"I have been coming to NHC for over 2 years to visit the "Mother" of our church. I visit at different times on different days, therefore I can speak with conviction that this facility truly practices what their mission statement says. I am also a MSW and am aquainted with sub-standard facilities. NHC's rooms are spacious and sunny. The residents are clean and well cared for and there are numerous activities and church services throughout the week. There is an atrium with beautiful flowers and a waterfall and trees which are enclosed within the structure of the building. The staff are professional and sensitive to the needs of the residents and cooperative in keeping the family abreast of any changes in the resident's behavior and healthcare. "

"My mother never wanted to go to a "nursing home". That was her biggest fear. After a stoke, broken hip and subsequent strokes, I had no choice but to put her in assisted Living. We spoke to several centers and chose Covenant Place because it was close to where the family home is and also they have an in-facility rehab. Covenant wasn't the least expensive, but you cannot put a price on your parents care. After doing some long soul searching, we chose Covenant. No one really wants to leave their home and go into assistant living. It took my mother around a year to settle in. Her health is so much better than it would be if she had stayed in the home. She would have had to have home sitters that she didn't know and we tried that before and it really didn't work. I could go on and on, but please call Covenant Place and talk to them if you have a loved one in this situation. They have changed my Moms life. The Directors, care givers, activity staff, nurses are top notch and my mom has made so many new friends. Just last night, she attended an Art show at the center, with many of her old friends she has not seen in a long while.She has so much more activity than she has had in years. I just can't say enough! Thank you, Covenant Place for helping my mother start a new life with dignity! "

"This facility is always very clean and they work hard to make it feel like a home setting rather than nursing home. The nurses are all dressed in white to be easily identified and professional. There is plenty of staff available, and frequent activities for the residents. They also have therapy in house for PT, ST, and OT. This facility has new furniture, nicely decorated rooms, and a homely feeling. They have birdcages inside for residents to view. Each room has a window to view outside the facility and the grounds are fairly well kept. They encourage residents to get out and be active with the events and facility. Like I said, the staff are well dressed. They are all accredited professionals that have training and continued training. The nurses all dispense the medications on time and keep them safely in a locked cart with each resident having their own drawer. They also are very on top of wound care and skin breakdown prevention. Some rooms also have bed alarms to let staff know if a resident is off of their bed and potentially in danger Overall, this is one of the best places in this area for nursing homes. I feel that they do a good job with their residents and would recommend this facility. "

"I was here in June and July 2021. I enjoyed my short term stay. My husband passed away shortly before I was admitted. The staff were so very supportive and helped me deal with this loss. I cannot thank them enough. I recommend this facility."

"It smelled REALLY good when I went to visit. I noticed that Heartland didnt have a suggestion box/quality indicator survey in sight. Normally when I visit a nursing home they atleast have this option for visitors to share their opinion. However, they do have a full sprinkler system, they house 132 residents but only has 122 of the beds filled which is more than 90% full. Thats a great thing. "

"Unihealth is a beautiful place, but I wasn’t too happy with it. It is very clean. The staff is very nice but with no experience. They are new. They need consistency and a checklist for each resident that is there. I felt like I had to be there all the time or the right things weren’t done for my mother. She has been there for three months and it was exhausting. They have recreation like movies, arts and crafts, and socials. "

"My mom is at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbia and they've been wonderful. My mother has been there two other times, both of them were times when she came out of the hospital. But this time I called and asked if they would take her in. Even if she seems that she is feeling okay, her mobility is dwindling. They have nursing staff there and doctors that take care of the residents' health . They also have very rigorous physical therapy and occupational therapy and they do it two to three times a day. They take elderly people, like my mom. I can't sing their praises enough for what they've done for my mom and her mobility. She loves the food. I was pleasantly surprised because there is always a complaint from my mom when we are cooking. She ate all of her dinner when we took her there last Sunday. She ate most of her meals on Monday and when I talked to her today, she said everything she ate was good. She seems to like it a lot. I am allowed to visit three days a week. Next week it might change. If I don't go, another family member can go, but only one person can visit per day for an hour. Their rehabilitation program has different exercises and you don't have participate in Encompass home health, but they suggest that you do home health for the weeks after you leave Encompass. They only keep you for 10-14 days and it is usually the maximum stay unless have a more serious injury. They told me that she was evaluated yesterday so I may receive a call tonight or tomorrow for her expected date of release. I don't remember if they have group activities for socializing I think the facility is mainly for rehabilitation. I have always thought they should charge a little bit less."
