I highly recommend South Kingstown Nursing Rehabilitation Center. I think the staff has a good understanding of memory issues, and the facility itself is very nice. It's very up-to- date and clean. I have no complaints. The activity director is wonderful. She's very involved in all the patient's activities like what they do during the day and it's ongoing throughout the day. The CNAs give good personal care and they tried throughout the day to keep the patients with memory problems engaged. My husband is in a shared room. The staff is good. He has severe dementia but they can communicate with him. The food is excellent.

My husband was sent there from the hospital during covid. Staff was responsive and helpful until he got moved out of the rehab section. No one let me know how dire his situation was until he passed. We were called while he was coding even though we had a DNR. Additionally, I never received any condolences at all from either the social worker or the PA whom I had communicated with multiple times per week during his stay. You get condolences from the vet when your dog dies. It is just a very poor policy that I hope will change. Therefore, I would not recommend this home.

Upon entering the nursing home one get hit in the face with a horrible smell. My friend who was not eating at the time was given a huge ham sandwich on a thick bulky roll. Really!!!! No individual consideration for each patient. When my friend was at the end of life why wasn't hospice and her family called in to be with her? Why did her husband have to walk in and find that she had passed? I would Never put a relative in that facility.

My Dad is there and the first time I visited the entire facility smelled. The only friendly staff member was a volunteer…I was not impressed. The next time I went, the staff were much friendlier and the smell was gone. I still think they should not serve cheesy rice and call it an entree. That's disgusting and non-nutritional.

My mom was in South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab for about two or three weeks. It was okay.
