We moved Mom to Stillwater Assisted Living in July of 2024, after being dissatisfied with the care she was receiving at a different AL facility. She has a beautiful one bedroom apartment with windows facing the park and walking path. The facility is large and includes assisted living, memory care, and a nursing home. As residents needs may increase, they can relocate within the community with minimal disruption. Stillwater has 3 floors and (to my knowledge) only one elevator, so if your loved one is not able to use stairs, there may be some mild inconvenience. The best thing by far about Stillwater is the caring and attentive staff. I visit at least twice every week and also communicate with the director and nurses frequently via phone and email. Mom has transitioned from using a cane to a walker since moving to Stillwater. Becky the physical therapist worked with her 3 x a week and helped her to make the change. A couple of times Mom fell and I was informed immediately. The staff is able to do x-rays on site, and they made certain that no bones were broken. Pain reliever was added to her medication protocol as needed. There are always things happening at Stillwater. The activities calendar is packed full of arts and crafts, vocal performances, cooperative games, field trips, etc. Lea, the activities director, is just a positive ball of energy, and she and her staff really work hard to connect with residents and stimulate their minds and bodies. I am so very grateful that Mom is safe and treated with dignity.

My loved one has moved into Stillwater Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Community. The assisted living room that she ended up getting is a very nice, large room. It's a nice, sunny, large room. It's a two-room. It's near the elevators and in the quiet hallway. She likes it there. The staff is very friendly and very informative. She answered any questions that I had. She's very helpful. They have activities. They were having a word game, and another day I went there they had entertainment. They had like a DJ and a singer, and they had participation. Out of all the places we had to go to, my loved one is getting the best value there.

My husband is a resident of Stillwater Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Community. I went there all the time. No one was taking care of him. No one's paying attention to him. They lost all the stuff. When I brought it there, the woman said she was going to tag everything, all of his toiletries, slippers, and all that stuff in the bathroom. They all got lost and you can't find them. All he has there are his shirts that I brought him, his pants, some underwear, and socks, but other than that, everything else is missing. The facility is clean. The food is bad. When he was confined, I think to that psych ward or whatever it was called, the memory ward was locked out, and no one paid attention to him. He needs full attention, 24/7 care, and he didn't get it. His neighbor is always full of poop. Everytime I go in there she's full of crap. It's way too much money and they don't do anything for the patient.

HAad a relative there for approximately 8 weeks. After which time I received a called from a friend that had been visiting that my relative was sent to the hospital. I called the nursing home and confirmed it. I was informed at hospital that my relative was severely dehydrated, and had other consequences of that dehydration. This is not I'm my opinion good care. Beware!!!

We had a very positive experience, although our loved one passed the staff and especially the nursing staff was wonderful. We found the facility actually cared about their patients. I would definitely recommend this facility.

Stillwater Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Community was negative in every respect as far as I was concerned. The rooms were very small. It looked dark. It didn't offer the services that I needed and there were extra charges. I didn't like the appearance of the building. It's an old building. The bathrooms were extremely small. I would not be able to use my wheelchair in there or anything. It's negative all the way through. There was only one gentleman that came on the tour with us, and he was very nice and answered my questions. They had activities.

The facility is spotless, staff are welcoming, and they are receptive to feedback. Short-term rehab.

I was very impressed with Cortland Place; it was very nice, clean, and didn’t smell like an old folks' home. The staff was friendly. My mom is in a private room; it’s very pretty, spacious, and just the right size for a single individual. It’s got a separate bedroom and a large living and kitchen area, which is very sufficient for someone of her age. The food is good, and mom likes it. The dining area is adequate, very nice, and spacious. They have movie nights, they take the folks out for a drive to Walmart, Target, or surrounding stores, and they have entertainment that come in to entertain the residents.

Cortland Place was nice and the staff was very nice. I went unannounced; I just walked in and told them that I was shopping for assisted living for my wife who has Alzheimer's, and they were just fine with that. It was very nice. The problem is that you go through a bunch of these places, and then you find "the place."
