I had a very pleasant stay at Hopkins Center, l went into this facility in major pain, you could not touch me, the pain was so great. I started Physical Therapy on May 22nd, l can in contact with Therapist Aziz, Karen and Nicole, a few days later, l came in contact with Director of Physical Therapy, Ron. These Therapist did a good job on me, l went from non-walker to walking with a walker. I left this facility on August 6th, 2023, l thought, I was ready to go back in the world. During the remaining month of August, l spent 6 more days in hospitals (Jefferson and Veterans Administration). I returned to Hopkins Center, l had my choice of Nursing Homes to go, l went back to Hopkins Center, l was familiar with the staff, l went back to Hopkins Center on September 6th, the next day, l was back in Physical Therapy with same staff added Therapist, Eric and Melissa. The Therapist got me back on target, l did exercises in Therapy, at night, l would do a lot of exercises in my room and in the hallways, walking back and forth with a walker. My last three weeks, l started to climb the real steps with the staff of Therapist around me. My last week, l started walking with a cane. If it was not for the Physical Therapist: Ron, Eric, Nicole, Aziz, Karen and Melissa, l would not be able to reach climbing the mountain. The Physical Therapist are top notch Professionals, the Director of this department, Ron(Mister No Quit) has trained his staff to follow his lead. The staff is friendly, supportive and understanding to your needs. Nurse Practitioners, Jen and Kate listen to your needs. Kellyanne, Director of Nursing, said to me when you came in here, nobody could touch you, now look at you, you are walking out of here with the aid of a walker. The Physical Therapist, thank you for getting back to a normal life, I was discharged on November 10th, l wanted to stay an extra four months.

Hopkins Center is a dump only use if no Medicare beds are available elsewhere. A handful of nurses are good and the power back rehab personnel are good. Third floor men walk around in diapers entering other rooms unsupervised. A rat was witnessed in the room. Another day a guy asked if we had ants in the room. The only elevator gets stuck on the first floor by both elevator malfunction and staff keeping the door open to move things around. Generally a 15 minute wait to get from the 2nd to first floor. Stairs are not an option as you need a code for them. Mother was there a few weeks for rehab and now at a nursing home. The nursing home found her critically dehydrated so was sent to the emergency room. The food is awful and most employees are lackadaisical. Floors are dirty until they learn of an upcoming inspection. Some employees blow off checking diapers so the place stinks of poop. I can’t imagine anyone would have Hopkins as their first choice. I don’t understand the positive reviews. The negative reviews are aligned with what we experienced. Social worker is more interested in finances than social work. I’ve seen condemned military dorms that look better than Hopkins. You hear complaints and dissatisfaction from patients and staff. Avoid if you can.
