"Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care is very interactive. It is very clean and very new. As I was walking around, all the staff were out and about, and a great number of the patients were out and about, too. It's a small community of only 40 people."

"We moved my father into Overlook Green on September 2, 2017 from another assisted living residence. The staff at Overlook Green treated my father with such compassion and respect. My father passed on October 26, 2017 from his illness, the staff and 365 Hospice could not have been more compassionate towards me and my siblings. I had previous experience with Overlook Green when my mother in law was a resident for two years. I would highly recommend Overlook Green when the time comes to place your loved one. "

"The reason why I would choose Juniper Village was because my sister was into early dementia and I was looking for a memory care place. It was a very nice place, and I knew the care was very good. I had an acquaintance who was there, and she's very happy there. I thought my sister would be happy there if we had to go there. I knew they had activities and a crafts room. I talked to the director, and they said that they would take her, if need be, immediately. The environment was lovely. I just thought the care was very good there, and I didn't have that feeling that I was in a bad nursing home or anything because it was a lovely place and it was in a nice environment. "

"Paramount Senior Living-Bethel was very welcoming. The staff and residents seemed to have a great interaction with each other. The staff was very knowledgeable and wanted to show my daughter and me everything they had to offer. They have outdoor space, like a little courtyard area. They get three meals a day."

"I like it a lot, and that's why we chose it for my dad. He's been there for three days now and there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. Their location is the best, the staff is pleasant, and it is clean. I talked to a few residents and they love it there. It was only a two-year-old facility as well. So far he's had mixed reviews about their food. He said he had some delicious ones, and then not-so-delicious ones. They have all kinds of outings and they have a game room where they play Wii bowling. There's a poker table there too. Every holiday, they have activities going on like Easter egg hunts, and just recently, they had a Cinco de Mayo day and I think they're going to have a dog show where family members could bring their dogs in if they have. Also, they have a little putting green right in the back, and a little bar where you can sit down, play cards, and get a glass of wine or something."

"My mother is at Mount Vernon of South Park. Overall, it’s wonderful from the people to the food. My mother is being taken care of very well. Her room is very nice. Everybody was very helpful and nice. There are no bad things I can say about it. "

"The rooms at Brookdale Mt. Lebanon are very nice, good-sized rooms. There is enough room for the residents to have a separate area for sleeping or to sit and watch television. There is a kitchen area, and the entire facility is very clean. There seems to be a decent amount of staff walking around. I noticed the chapel and the community room, and they both seemed to be very nice. "

"My father-in-law was at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth. The people were very nice, and the facility was clean. They did have activities, but my father-in-law wasn’t there very long, so as far as I know, he did not participate. "

"We toured Allegheny Place. We liked the people there. The facility was clean. The rooms were a nice size. They were able to somewhat accommodate a no-salt diet."

"To me, Abode Care of Monroeville has more of a nursing home/hospital kind of a vibe to it. It's more of a sterile kind of environment. It's all hard flooring. There's no carpeting. It was clean, though. The director was very nice and very knowledgeable. She was receptive to what we were looking for. No complaints about her."

"Juniper Village at South Hills was wonderful for my mom. It looked like a wonderful place. It was very clean. They offered a lot of different activities. It was very bright and clean. I loved it. If I was going into a place myself, I would love to go there. They were amazing. The woman who showed us around and stuff was wonderful, but the only problem is that it's just too far from my home. With regards to food, my mom is very, very picky but they have a program where my mom could choose what she likes to eat. They would be able to prepare meals for her that she would enjoy."

"My mother-in-law is at The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair. We chose it because I checked the background of the facility and different information on it, the cleanliness, how they took care of their residents, and the ratio of residents compared to their staff. That's what I made my assumption on. She's in assisted living, but she's also on hospice. We haven't been able to try the food, but she says it's OK. They have bingo, movies, and games. They have a salon but somebody comes in from the outside and that's been a real problem."

"This may be a longer review but hopefully worth the read. Our mother had reached a point in life when assisted living was necessary. She was VERY reluctant to go. Well it took about 2.5 weeks and she didnt want to leave. The place is clean and well maintained.The food is made fresh and is good. If our mom doesnt like what is on the menu, the kitchen staff will make her something else. She gets dessert after lunch and dinner. Special mention to the executive chef, she makes sure each resident is happy and well fed. In our opinion, the staff makes the place top notch. From the director, the management staff, receptionist, nurses. med techs, aides, maintenance or food service…everyone is polite and friendly to the residents. They know everyone by name. and they take good care of our mom. She wears a pendant so she can ask for help when needed. Juniper is expensive. The base price can increase depending on the level of care but we sleep better at night knowing she is at Juniper."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."
