We were looking for a place for my Mom last year after it was determined it was not good for her to live alone any longer. She was at another local facility in Center Valley for 3 weeks and was not happy there. I called Christina (Sales Director) at Legend to schedule an appointment to see the facility. My husband and I toured it and fell in love with it. The facility is just beautiful with great decorating and color scheme. We then brought my Mom over with my sister and they both thought it was wonderful. It took us a few days to decide but we after we make the final decision, we have not looked back. It was the very best decision for my mother. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful to us. I have no complaints about the staff. There have been some staffing changes but that is bound to happen--noted this overturn is mostly in the dining area. My mother likes quite a few of the activities offered--especially the ones where she gets to bake or cook. (which is something she cannot do on her own any longer-so the supervised baking is wonderful for her) She enjoys some movies, the trivia days, outing to the Dollar Store and the exercise classes. The apartments are beautiful. My mother loves that she can go out and be with other residents, be involved in activities, and then go back to her cozy apartment. Almost a year after she moved in she is still saying how much she loves her apartment. The main areas are always tastefully decorated for different holidays. Laundry is included as well as transportation to doctor/dentist appointment (must be scheduled with front desk). Most of the time we take Mom for her appointment, but it is great to know she would have a ride if needed. I think Legend does a good job with the food. There are some things my Mom doesn't like--but that is to be expected once and a while. There are other choice if one does not like the multiple choices for main meals. Even though it is a huge investment (money wise) for us and my mother, I am always recommending Legend to anyone that is in need of a personal care facility.

I loved Legend of Allentown, but they could not give me the level of care that my dad needed. The facilities were beautiful. It's a new building. It's beautifully done, very homely looking, very inviting, and very clean. They have a lot of pretty areas for the resident to hang out and to have space, out of their rooms. They encourage their residents to spend time out of their rooms, so they don't get isolated. The people seemed very nice, and they seemed to have a lot of good activities. While I was on the tour, they had a group there doing a Christmas concert, so that was kind of nice. I had a very good impression of them. The staff was very kind and very informative. Everyone we met along the way, if you were passing by someone in the hall, was friendly and welcoming.

I visited Legend of Allentown. It was very lavish and had a lot of really cool activities. The building was beautiful. If I were to go into one of these facilities, this is the facility I would want to go to. The staff was very friendly and very personal. They definitely helped ease my mind on a lot of different things and gave me a lot of good information. They had a beautiful enclosed garden on the inside. The facility was all the way around, and then there was an outside part on the inside to keep it all enclosed. It was beautiful outside and very quiet in a very nice little neighborhood.

I toured Legend of Allentown and I thought that was incredible. It was the most expensive of all the places I liked and toured, but it was beautiful. They have these little neighborhoods where you kind of congregate together, and they have four rooms, so you know who your neighbors are. They eat at a family-style table, or they can eat at bistro-style tables where it's just them. They have a kitchen that has snacks out on the table for them if they want them. They have a general activity room for them and an art room. It's just lovely. I met with the activities director, and they showed me the tools and things that they have. We talked about how they calm people down who are upset, and it is not drug oriented but just an engagement. They know what these people like. They ask for information about the individual. They try and bring them back to a place where they're happier. They have this biofeedback kind of seal that mimics a baby, and many people will either pet it like it's a dog or hold it like it's a baby. But those are the things they do to calm and redirect a person who's agitated with dementia as opposed to scolding them or drugging them. They sent me home with a little care package of brownies and a chocolate chip cookie that the chef had made as a thank you for coming in to visit them. Both my husband and I thought they were very good. The place was beautiful and looked like a hotel. It looked like you were going on a summer vacation. It was bright and clean. There was a level of activity that was almost calming and reassuring like you knew you weren't alone. The person who toured me showed me the rooms. She asked one woman and the woman got really proud and said "yeah, you can show her my room." They were lovely and adequate. They weren't huge, but they don't need to be. They just need to feel safe, comfortable, and cozy. Safe is probably the biggest word there. None of the rooms lock, which is good, but you can close the door.

We went and visited Legends of Allentown yesterday, and we were very impressed. We were very impressed with the customer service and the overall positive energy of the entire staff. Everybody has a great deal of positive energy coming out of them all the time, not just for us, but clearly for the people who were there. It did not feel like a nursing home. It felt like a hotel. I was joking when I came home, I said it felt like a summer camp for seniors. We visited both levels of care but we preferred the personal care unit for our particular needs. The memory care unit, as it is referred to, looks like it offers the support that the people over there need. The community is very attractive and comforting. We saw the menu and it looked both well-rounded and with good variety. They have a nice variety of activities that are appropriate for people in that situation. That's why I joked it was like summer camp for seniors because they have everything from art to music. I don't know that my mother-in-law particularly will get involved but there are great opportunities there for people. We preferred the personal care units, which were larger and more spacious than the memory care unit. The gardens that they have for people to go outside would still be contained within the building. We like the fact that they have a hairdresser and a manicurist so we were very impressed.

Legend of Allentown is a very upscale facility. There is a lot of attention to detail and a lot of architectural details to make the entrance to each resident's room looks like the front door of a house (like carpets with very intricate designs, lots of attention to detail with things like the width of the aisles that would allow people in wheelchairs to pass each other). When you get into the room, the light switches on the walls are at the same level as the doorknob; so residents would only need to move their hand to the side to find the light switch, and they wouldn't have to go up or down. The bathrooms are excellent with all the same kinds of facilities that I've seen before. There's a fold down shower seat. There is a shower that can come off and be used as a hose. They have a beautiful theater for the residents and a beautiful dining area. It is a very new facility. It's probably only three years old. It's wonderful, and it is nearly fully occupied. For somebody who can afford this facility, it's great. The staff was wonderful. She was very informative and very personable. I got all the information I needed. There was no time when I asked a question that she didn't know the answer. She was always very willing to point me in the right direction. She was excellent. She told me that she's been there for five months or so. For five months, she knows her stuff. The place is immaculate.

Legend of Allentown was great, and everything was fine. The staff was very knowledgeable and they were also great. The facility was adequate, it was OK, and the rooms were fine. It's a good location and easy to get to. The dining area was fine. I tried the food, but I saw samples of the menu. It was a very good variety. For the price point, and what they offer, it was fine.

We went to see Legend of Allentown, it's a personal care facility. I only met 3 people, the salesperson, the activities director, and a nurse. They were all fine, they were all good. The facility's maintenance and cleanliness are excellent too. They were getting ready for some activities when we're there. We weren't there to see the actual activity at that point though. They have a beautiful garden in the courtyard in the middle. All the rooms are around this beautiful courtyard. They had a garden there and they had a lot of professionally landscaped things. We had soup there, it was delicious food. We also had a brownie with it and some fruit.

I toured Legend of Allentown for my mom. It was beautiful because it's relatively new. They have a lot of amenities like a movie theater. I'm not exactly sure what it would be called, but there was like a whirlpool bath in the one area, I guess I don't know if it's like where the therapist would normally be, but it's open to all residents and it's not like you just go in if you're looking for therapy. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. The only thing that bothers me about this one is they will not quote me a staff-to-resident ratio, which makes me uncomfortable. Sometimes they're saying it depends on how many residents they have. And I'm like, "well, not really," because if your ratio is six to one and you have 24 patients, then you need to have four staff. If you all of a sudden have like 40 some people, then you need to have more staff. If you're going to maintain six to one, it can't be like 40 to one. I realize it might be different at certain times of the day because certain things are going on, but when I came to Legend, I was put off by the fact that they wouldn't nail down a ratio. I like them about everything else. The facility was gorgeous, but it bothered me that they wouldn't tell me that. They were a front runner for us at first because I saw it and I thought it was beautiful. And I liked the people that toured me around the place. I was toured by, I think, the director of activities, and then the director of memory care came with us. They were very, very knowledgeable because it was their area.

Legend of Allentown is a very nice place. It's expensive. The rooms were nice; they had a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchenette. They're very, very small, but for what you need -- for one person -- I think it's nice. Everybody there was wonderful.

Legend of Allentown was very nice. The rooms were very nice. They had a living area and a sitting area with a bedroom. The bathrooms were very nice and new. The living area was small, but the bedroom was very nice. I saw both assisted living and memory care.

Legend of Allentown was brand new and extremely beautiful. It was not like a nursing care facility at all. It was more like town home living, but in a building type setting. It was very bright and very happy. The residents looked very happy as well. Their kitchen and their staff were very nice. Everyone said hello. I was very impressed. They had a lot of activities going on that day. They were having a celebration, so it was being prepped and catered at that moment. They make sure that the residents are included in all their celebrations and things that they do outside of the facility like shopping. It's very well done. Everyone was very cordial, very friendly, very informative, and very welcoming.

I recently visited a friend at Legend Of Allentown and although he seem to be happy and taken care of I was very disappointed in the employees that work at this establishment I’ve never seen so much hostility Among the coworkers. Whatever happened to teamwork it seems they lack the teamwork Do you to maybe their dislike of certain coworkers I was just exiting the hallway and I could hear loud arguments among several not good at all if it would’ve been in earshot of any residents do you to maybe their dislike of certain coworkers I was just exiting the hallway and I could hear loud arguments among several not good at all if it would’ve been in earshot of any residence. What is management doing to try to make the atmosphere and the teamwork more pleasant for those that visit ?

I toured the community while under construction and was pleased with all that it had to offer. It wasn't until we moved our loved on in that I realized how lucky we really were to have chosen the community. The staff is kind and provides great care. The management team is attentive and responds to all of our questions (and we had a lot of them). There is always something to do, lots of activities and our loved one has even made friends. The food is great, I even enjoy lunch during my visits. Our loved one has flourished since moving into the community, I am glad we made the right decision.

Legends of Allentown is a beautiful looking place but the PCA’s have to many job duty’s like dining, personal care ect. Which means residents are alone at times and could choke in dining room and don’t have access to walkers. Managment is the pits they are not considerate to family and residents feel like they don’t care about them or loved.Barbra (Allentown campus) works as a customer service administrator and words can not discribe how dishonest and horrible she can be. We also have excellent workers that cared about the residents and they have been let go when in reality some of managment should have been let go. This place needs changes fast. Resident was also asked to leave the eating area on super bowel Sunday because they had 2 family members to visit and there were several tables that were empty the whole time . Family is everything to residents make then feel like they are excepted in there home.

We've chosen Legend of Allentown because it's convenient, they have friendly staff members, and the food is good. The rooms are adequately sized, and it has the things that we were looking for. They have movies, games, they have cooking days, and things like that. The place is very nice, and it's basically very much like home.
