My uncle has moved into Legend of Lancaster. The staff is very friendly. He seems to like it, and he seems to be doing well there. It's a very nice facility, it's always clean, and they have it decorated nicely for the holidays. They have a room where they can participate in different types of activities. They have a TV room with lounge chairs. They have an outdoor courtyard where they can sit and plant in the spring. It's very homey. They try hard to make everybody comfortable. The dining room is very nice and they set the table with table covers and cloth napkins for every meal. They just don't have enough of a variety of activities for everybody, and they have people there that are very disruptive and it makes it difficult for those who want to participate.

My visit to the Legend of Lancaster was just really cool. When I walked in there, it almost felt like home. Everybody was so friendly. The sales director was amazing. There was a sign that had my name on it to welcome me. It was a wonderful experience. I was given a folder and talked through all of the different things that are offered and the price points. Everything was explained very well and clearly. They had a beauty shop and a little spa room, which had a tub in it. If someone wanted to do a bath-type situation, they could have assistance with that. The activity area was nice. It was very cool to see all the different offerings of activities. They provide transportation to get residents to and from certain places. The staff was very friendly. They knew all the residents and were talking to them by name. It was just a very loving and caring environment.

The facilities at Legend of Lancaster were just incredible. The building appeared to be brand new. It was clean, and it did not look, feel or smell like a hospital. It did not look or feel dirty either. It felt like a hotel vacation spot for older people. It had a very nice dining facility and it looked like a restaurant. While I was there, the residents were playing bingo. They were trying to get residents involved in something and it was as much about mental activity as it was physical activity.

We toured Legend of Lancaster. I liked the fact that we could get my sister a 1-bedroom apartment. You could get an efficiency apartment, too. I also like the fact that you didn't feel like you were in assisted living. It felt like you were in an upscale apartment building. It was lovely. It was a beautiful community. They also had a lot of activities. They offered music, and they had singalongs. They sent us home a couple of cupcakes, and they were good. They have a lot of different areas. They have a coffee snack bar, a physical therapy room, and a salon. All the communities have a doctor that comes in once a week, but Legend of Lancaster offered dentistry as well. I found out they had a little mobile van that was coming around. And they had different sizes of apartments plus having an efficiency option as well. I liked the fact that they could have a one-bedroom apartment, so it seemed more like you weren't going into a home of some kind, that you were going into an apartment community versus assisted living. I like that concept. When I walked in there, they had a little easel set up in the entrance way, and it said, 'Welcome, Janice.' And then when my sister and I went, they got, 'Welcome, Elaine and Janice.' Their marketing manager and the girl that I met with up there were really on the ball. It made you feel like 'We're here to help you. We're glad you're here.' It was a very nice touch, and none of the others did. So that made me feel like they care. It's a very subtle message, but it made you feel like you mattered.

My mother spent a week at Legend of Lancaster and we're not happy with it. She was left alone in her room and they brought her food to her, but no one checked whether or not she ate, and no one checked on her well-being. So after a week, she had just been putting her food in the refrigerator and not eating at all. There was very little staff. She was not enticed to leave her room, and after a week she had a fall and hit her head. People didn't check on her, they were very understaffed. They were supposed to have someone check on her, and they were supposed to come and bring her or at least encourage her to go eat with other people. She was also not interacting with other people, they simply brought her food to her room and left her. So the longer she was there, the less she was with anyone. They were taking away empty trays with no plates for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and nobody thought to ask where the plates were. Where we moved her now, it was just a very different scenario. We didn't get any care for what we were paying. The hallways were very dark, it's a loop that goes all the way around. But once you get around to the back end of the building, the hallways were so dark. They were so understaffed that even if my mom wanted to go out of her room, she didn't feel like she could.

We chose Legend of Lancaster for my mom. The rooms looked like small apartments because they had a wall in the middle and were divided. They have a mini kitchen in there with a refrigerator. The door doesn't look like the normal door of a nursing home. It looks like a house door. The inside was square, so you could do laps around the place when it was raining. They have a nice center part with a fountain, flowers, and a screened-in porch on the outside. It was very nice. They have bingo, a library where you can read their books, a movie theater, and a mini church. The staff members were nice and very helpful.

I toured Legend of Lancaster, and the people I met were wonderful. The community was very, very nice. I loved the open courtyard that the residents have access to. I would highly recommend them. It was a good place.

Legend of Lancaster was very clean and the staff was very personable. The people or the residents seemed like they were very happy, and there were things for them to do, and the rooms were very nice. If I could afford it, I would have sent my husband there. The staff who gave me the tour was very personable, they went over and beyond everything. They gave us a cupcake and it wasn't bad, but I did not try the meals. They did pretty well as far as what they have to offer. They have a courtyard, and there are things for people to do.

We went to see Legend of Lancaster and my brother and I loved it. My mom needs a little bit of assistance and she has dementia with behavioral issues and problems so we toured their memory care. The staff was excellent. My brother and I enjoyed the tour. We enjoyed how they treated us, first and foremost. When we went, they greeted us directly. The tour was beautiful and the people there were friendly. Even the residents looked happy, and that's what convinced me. The fact that we were allowed to visit her any time and just the way they care for the residents convinced us too. The facility is beautiful, very warm, and overall just excellent. They showed us everything they have like a beauty salon, a spa, and a theater room. It's like a small community inside of a building. The staff that toured us, her knowledge was excellent, she answered a lot of our questions and she was very informative. My brother and I were commenting that if we retire, we want to go there. That's how nice it is. We're very happy about it and we recommend this place.

My mom lives in Legend of Lancaster's assisted living. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are huge. They have the largest rooms of any place that I've seen, especially the closet spaces. The staff and the services suck. They used to be awesome, and they were great through COVID but then once things opened up after COVID, everybody left. They don't have a regional manager and they just got a new manager but she doesn't seem to be all that effective. The new people that they brought in like the nursing staff don't seem to be effective. My mom has had to order her own meds sometimes. The old activity director left and they haven't replaced that. A lot of the activities seem to be rather churchy and my mom is Jewish. They play a lot of bingo too but my mom's not into bingo. My mom has started some activities. She likes to make jewelry, she does that a lot in her room, so she's taught other people how to do it, and she's provided the stuff for it. They have a salon and a library. They also have computers and the internet. So long as you're not on any diet, you can have the food, but the food isn't spectacular and I've eaten it. I don't think they have a chef right now, they're down on that, too. If you can't take care of personal care and nursing, first of all, then it's not good. That's the basic reason people are there. The reason my mom is leaving is that they had staff that my mom has called and she's had to wait for 4 to 6 hours for them to come back to her. She's asked people a question and they won't get back to her for 3 days. She's had 4 days at a time without getting a shower. She's only had a couple of really good staff members and now they've left. They do a decent job at the cleanliness and upkeep but they need staff. The staff can't be people who say to the client's face or the family's face, "I'll get to it when I get to it". Also, when they get a prescription in, they should fill it. They need to remember that when they are doing their med books, they should do it an hour before and an hour after. If it's time for somebody's pain medication and they ring and they ask for pain medication, they shouldn't come 6 hours later. If somebody has an infection on their legs, they should address the dressings. These are minor things and the whole reason we had my mom there so when they're not doing it, it's time to go. I have no problems paying money for the services but if they're not providing the services, I'm going elsewhere.

The Legend of Lancaster is beautiful, it's very clean, and well maintained. The common areas are just warm and inviting. Sarah, who does the tours and meets with the families, is outstanding. She just takes time and patience. It was just all-around good. They gave us some dessert and it was delicious.

My grandmother is at Legend of Lancaster. They seem very nice and friendly. Not everybody is super knowledgeable about how to get grandma set up with the Wi-Fi. They didn't have the information to get her set up with the Wi-Fi password, but they seem nice. The inside seems very well cared for. She has her own little space and that seems very nice. They come in, take her trash out, and clean. She hasn't been there very long, but the outside courtyard definitely needs some work. Hopefully, with the nice weather, they can attend to that because there are weeds everywhere and some dog poop in the yard, and it wasn't cleaned up or anything like that. They are probably understaffed, too, with everything else that's going on, so I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. The inside of the facility is very nice and very clean. She has access to a little library and a little food area if she wants a snack or two. She said the food has been pretty good so far. I haven't seen any activities as of yet, and she hasn't actually done anything yet either, which is a little disappointing. I feel like she is just kind of sitting in her room not getting much activity at all. It's very quiet when we go in there, there just does not seem to be a lot going on, and I feel like she's getting very depressed just sitting in her room all day long, which is not helping her situation at all. I know all places are very expensive, but my grandmother is paying $4500 a month for a very, very small space, and she is in the least amount of care needed. She just needs help with medication and that's it, so I think it's outrageous, personally. She has to buy her own laundry detergent and her own dryer sheets. They do the laundry for her, but she has to pay for that. She had to buy her own furniture to take in there, which was a really huge expense for her because she didn't have anything. She is on a very tight financial budget and probably will not be able to be there for more than a few years. It is very costly, but I know all these places are very costly. She has only been there for less than a month now.

I was accommodated very well at Legend of Lancaster. The place was very modern. It was just recently built. Everything was really pretty, nice, and new. It was a very nice-looking facility. However, when I asked about the ratio of staff to patients, I couldn't get an answer. The answer was it varies depending upon the situation, so that threw a red flag. The place was very clean. It didn't feel as home as the other facility, and it didn't feel as institutional as the nursing home where my mother was trying to do rehab. They have both a library and a beauty salon. The person I met was very accommodating. One thing they can improve upon is their location. The location is in a very, very busy intersection, so it's difficult to access if you're coming from certain directions, so that's one thing. The second thing is that I just like to know a little bit more about their staff and their staffing procedures, because if I ask a question,"What's your ratio of staff to patients?" and you can't answer, then I'm not going to have my mother go there.

We have just moved my father into Legend of Lancaster. We chose it for the location. However, they need to get their communication a little bit more up-to-date and communicate with residents and potential residents a little bit more clearly about the admission process. The staff members are not as accessible as you would think that they should be, but they're diligent in the work that they do. The food is excellent. My father hasn't participated in activities, but the activities coordinator has been very, very diligent and very, very interactive with him. She is engaging him, introducing him, and welcoming him into the community. It's very fresh and very new. She's done wonderful so far at trying to get him involved. I haven't really been there to experience it, but I've witnessed that there's always something going on. The facility looks very nice. The buildings are very new. It looks pretty good, and I'm just right down the street.

We liked Legend of Lancaster. They are very wonderful just like the other place we visited; they didn't not do anything wrong. They have really good staff. The person who gave me the tour was great and she gave my boyfriend something like cake to eat. I have been dealing with breast cancer, and she brought me a breast cancer survivor cup. She actually brought it over to the house. I was impressed with how kind they are. It is a relief for me that the people with my dad are this kind.

My sister is so depressed from the care she is paying for and not getting! No one baths her or cuts. Her nails! She can't eat by herself but is made to! She needs some compassion and care! I will be on the phone tomorrow with a speaker for my sister! 3/14/2021

Don’t let the quality of the building fool you like it fooled us! Management was totally unprofessional, care was subpar, and memory care activities were pathetic.

We loved Legend of Lancaster, but four weeks is their minimum for respite and that's a little long for us. Everything was very clean, very modern, and quiet and everyone was very professional. There was a spa, a movie theater, and a bistro. There were lots of things to do. The admissions person was very nice. It's a beautiful facility.

Signature Senior Living Lancaster was brand new. The actual grounds were a little smaller than the other ones we visited. We saw two beautiful rooms and a calendar with activities that were planned for the month. They had a beautiful little café that they kept stocked all the time and residents were welcome to help themselves. Everyone seemed very nice. There wasn't much going on because it was brand new. They had a lot of openings. It almost reminded me of a hotel; it's beautiful.
