"My father has been at Audubon Villa since April 2011. They have all single rooms which is very nice to have your privacy. He is receiving very good care and the nurses and aides are very caring, helpful and nice. They listen and address all his requests. He also enjoys the good food & selections. When I have questions the nurses are very willing to listen and give me updates or guidance. Audubon Villa is a very small facility located on Broad Street in Lititz. For our family it is very convenient. My father was at another facility I won't mention and we were not satisfied. We are very glad we made the change to Audubon Villa. As a caregiver you have a lot of decisions to make and they are not easy and often need to be made very quickly when someone is in the hospital. I would recommend checking with Audubon Villa if you have a loved one that needs that special skilled nursing care. "

"United Zion Retirement Community is very clean and well-kept. Their food is very good. They could use a little more staff. They're very nice, but each person has plenty to do. It doesn't have a swimming pool or some of the health things that other places have. I think the cost is a little less because of that. It's very well established. It's been here a long time. They have local people doing the cooking. I know they have invited some of the people who are in independent living to come into the kitchen and help them prepare food. They allow some of that, such as green beans, that they just need to have the ends snipped off and broken into pieces, things like that, not necessarily things that they would need to use a knife. I don't think they do a lot of trips and things like that. It's a very good value because it's a very safe place and very low key and I think that makes it very safe. There's nothing here I would improve. It's very secure. I chose it because of availability and reasonable rates plus their reputation here in town is excellent. They will be opening a new building and have 36 new apartments."

"Moravian Manor was a wonderful facility. My mother was surrounded by loving staff, they were always improving the facility, and it’s just a beautiful location up Lichester Country. We were very pleased with the care that she got there for a long time. They would have bingo and different discussion groups. Once a month or so they would take them outings, and residents would do bowling from their wheelchairs so they would take them on different outings, and the grounds were beautiful. The meals were good, and they had a nice café in the building where you could purchase different items. "

"My father-in-law was in Brethren Village for four years. It's very nice and clean. The people we dealt with were very friendly. He was first in a condominium section, then he was moved to personal care, and then moved to the next step down, so we've experienced all the areas, which were all very nice. From what I could tell, the staff was fine; I didn't notice anything negative. I know they took shopping trips, had music, entertainment, chapel, and games. We have eaten in the cafe or coffee shop, and it was good. It was nicely decorated; they have remodeled almost all of their buildings, so it was all very modern and elegant. It was always clean and didn't smell awful. It had nice, big hallways and nice, high ceilings that made it feel nice and open. "

"I have had several family members go to Lancashire Hall. I personally have been working in health care field for over 13 years and I could not have been more thankful for the care and support the staff had shown me and my family. Therapy was wonderful and encouraging. The nursing staff always smiled and offered assistance to me and my family member. When my grandmother passed away at Lancashire Hall (it was her time) they were not only sad for us they were sad for the loss they were witnessing as well. They helped me with my children when it happened and I received more then a fair share of hugs and support. Lancashire Hall has flaws as does everywhere else. But when it comes to my family I will always pick Lancashire Hall/Lancashire Terrace. "

"My visit to Pleasant View was excellent. It is a good place for the elderly. The place doesn’t have gated guards. It has beautiful grounds, acres of places, and good views. One problem is snow in the wintertime because of location. "

"My wife and I visited a friend at Mennonite Home - Nursing & Personal Care in Lancaster. She's in the nursing home part. They separate their assisted living and skilled nursing so they're not all in the same facility. I think their independent living is called Woodcrest. They're huge. We don't know much about it other than what is written, but we see what's happening, and they are continually expanding. The downside for them is that they separate their assisted living and skilled nursing into different facilities. They're probably about half a mile away from the other campus. Our friend seems to be fine and she's very satisfied. They take good care of her, she gets her medicines on time, and she has her own private room. That's not always the case in nursing homes, I guess. It's usually a double or shared room. From my last visit, the facility itself seemed clean and nice. It's quite adequate. It has a nice entrance foyer, the receptionists are nice, the hallways are nice, and the lounges and everything else are nice. It's pleasant; I certainly would not worry about living there. That's one way I would judge it. Our friend said they have religious services there and she's attended those."

"My dad was at Phoebe Berks Village over the summer. Obviously with the COVID restrictions, it was difficult to keep in constant communication with his support staff, and that was one difficulty we had. In terms of the rehabilitation he received, the staff was pretty responsive to him, though he ended up not really making a whole lot of progress while he was there. As far as working with them, the biggest negative was the communication, but the facility, food, amenities, all of that were really good. My dad always liked the food they had, and it seemed like they had a lot of variety and different things to eat. They worked around his dietary restrictions, too."

"Phoebe Berks has all levels of care.... I think it seems like a nice community. HOWEVER --- the memory unit also known as "Village Gardens" is WONDERFUL. The way it is set up is there is a common area in the middle with a TV area and dining area. There are a few other TV areas as well. Off of the dining area they have a nice out door court yard. Residents need a worker to take them out. The unit has a real homey feel. And the staff are excellent and love the patients and take good care of them. They have several activities through out the day geared for people with memory problems. I have real peace of mind when I leave because I know my Mom is being well taken care of. "
