My father-in-law lived at Tierra Rose for his last few years of life. He had been in several other nursing homes in the Salem area, and Tierra Rose was by far a cut above the others he had been in. The staff was awesome, they really cared about the health and welfare of the people living there. Food is always an issue, at every nursing home, and for my father-in-law, this was no different, but I stopped in and ate with him on several occasions and I found the food to be good every time I ate there. The facility is located just a few block east of Lancaster Dr., so we found it to be very easy to access and they have done a really nice job to make the common areas and grounds of the facility very inviting. A suggestion to anyone reading this review, if you are placing a loved one in any facility, visit regularly and at different times of day, this is the best way to know how things are and how your loved one is really treated/taken care of. We visited a lot and at all hours. We were amazed at how well my father-in-law was cared for (he was a complicated fella very set in his own ways). He was always clean, well groomed, and always had a happy experience to share about an interaction with the staff. He had his favorites, but everyone took great care of him. we will forever be grateful for the love and care her received while residing at Tierra Rose!

Tierra Rose was a beautiful place, but I didn’t think the staff was as involved or friendly. They have memory care, assisted living, and nursing. The rooms were a little bigger; they had beautiful courtyards and a nice waiting area. The place was secure and safe.

Unfortunately the design of the facility was less than stellar. People were isolated based on their illnesses, and patients from the Alzheimer's wing regularly ended up in the rest of the facility. While I can't make any specific claims regarding the service, my grandmother was a bit disappointed with the food and the nurses, especially since she spent her last days there. Generally the people we spoke with were nice, but it's impossible to say how they treated their patients. I would probably recommend that other potential clients use another facility, since my grandmother was not particularly impressed. It's also worth adding that there was one employee that my grandmother liked very much who delivered fresh berries to her every morning, but she has since moved on to work somewhere else. Fortunately the price was relatively competitive so we didn't have too much trouble affording the place. The last thing I will add is that the location is extremely isolated, and that despite the nice plantings and walkways, it always felt like we were traveling to some strange, far-away place when we visited.

My sister was ih this home for six months, during that six months she ended up in the hospital from a "fall" 3 times. Her last "fall" killed her. Cracked her skull in 3 places, bleeding into her brain and taking her life.
