My friend has moved into Summerplace Assisted Living & Memory Care. He's not very fond of the meals. I am not sure exactly what it is he dislikes, but he's a little disappointed in the meals. He was able to move into something that has recently been remodeled, so he's very happy with his little apartment. As for the residents and the people he's interacting with, everything seems to be going very well. I would call it a studio. It has two separate rooms, a little living area with a sink, a microwave, a little kitchen, and a separate room with a bed. It looked like it was well kept, and everybody seems to be comfortable. It looks like they have a fairly nice dining room. We chose it for him because it is in the neighborhood; it's about a hundred yards from his old house. He has friends in that community, so they can go down and visit him. Everything seems to be well kept. The yard is manicured and kept up well.

I went to Summerplace Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was very nice, it was a great tour. It was the best tour of all, but it was a huge location. And I got a chance to see everything as I did in other places. But the place was so big. It took a lot longer than I anticipated, but what I saw was very impressive. The amenities appear to be wonderful. They have a kind of like a special bathtub that provides some sonic kind of action. It's probably like a healing bathtub for those folks that need some kind of therapy, and I like that. The rooms are very nice. The staff is very nice. I got a chance to meet a staff person who looks like me, I'm a black woman, and it's always nice as a person of color when you go to a facility you see people like you because that gives you some comfort that your loved one will be well received.

Under staffed! Unvaccinated Staff members came down with COVID and my 93 Year old Mom contracted it. I could say much more about the inattentiveness ...

Summerplace Assisted Living & Memory Care was nice. The apartment itself was very well set up, had a big window and a nice view outside, and it just felt roomy and comfortable. The staff was very nice. I dealt with one person, but she was very nice. Activities were present in both areas. There were places set aside for activities, crafting, social activities, dining, that sort of thing. There was a bit of a smell in the memory care unit and I know I asked about it specifically and the staff said, "Well, you know, we have a lot of people with incontinence issues," which I understood because my mom has those issues, too. I think whatever they were using to try to cover it up in the way of the air freshener along with the underlying issues was not super pleasant.

Summerplace was organized, it was clean, and the people were friendly and sociable, so there wasn't anything I didn't like about it. The staff was knowledgeable, and she could answer questions. She gave us recommendations and some pamphlets. She's very helpful. The only problems with the place are they don't allow smoking and they don't take Medicaid.

Everything was really nice at Summerplace, but the location was not good for us. It was too far away from where we were living. Otherwise, I think it would have been a very nice place for my mother-in-law to go. The staff was very good at what she did. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She called a week or two later to follow up to see what our thoughts were. The place was clean and well maintained. The thing about this place that I really like is that it's tucked away in a neighborhood, and you wouldn't even know it was there. It's surrounded by homes, and that's a whole different feeling.

My brother moved into the memory care of Summerplace Assisted Living & Memory Care. The people I dealt with in the assisted living were absolutely excellent, working with them was very positive, and I have nothing but praise in how they treated my family. Andrew and Alicia went above and beyond in helping me find a place for my brother. My brother has not been there very long, but they've been really helpful toward me and in getting him adjusted. The memory care for me is a lock-up facility, but it's a very nice lock-up facility. I've had no negative interactions with anybody, and even the receptionist remembered my name on the first day. I've had lunch and dinner there and the food was good. It's older than some of the other places, but it had absolutely no bad odor, and it looked very clean.

Summerplace Assisted Living & Memory Care was really nice. The staff was very welcoming and the young lady that gave us the tour was extremely professional and kind. They had a place that my dad could've gone into and we were considering that from the get go. They had a very beautiful facility. They had a room that led out to a patio in an enclosed area so nobody can go and get lost, and there were plants there as well. They had a cognitive specialist on-staff, someone to work with the folks that have Alzheimer's every day and to keep them engaged, and they had a lot of activities for the seniors like arts and crafts.

Summerplace was a good place. My friend was living there. I was impressed by the surroundings and by the activities. They had a special event for Fourth of July, which was good, and very patriotic. I like their food; it was good. The staff was very nice too.

My mother lived at Summerplace for 5 years. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Summerplace has turn over like all residential care. If you can't handle new smiling faces, then you should probably move in your loved one, in your own home. The food is good, some meals better than others. My mother's favorite was lunch. A new chef was hired a few months before my mother passes, I was very impressed with his cooking. I can't imagine cooking for 80 to 100 people. My mother received great care and respect. The long term staff are real gems. I can not say how thankful I am to the staff that have stuck thru the rough muck in the past 5 years with my family. I would highly recommend Summerplace to all.

We picked Summerplace for my mother-in-law. She seems to be very happy there. We saw two rooms and told them which one we preferred and that's the one that they put her in. They have a craft room if people who want to do crafts, they have singing on Sundays, and somebody comes in to speak to them. The staff seemed to be very good. The dining area and the food are both very good. Each room has their own door outside with a little cement area. When you walk in the halls, there's no smell of urine or anything like we ran into with some of the other facilities. They have an activities room and another room upstairs where they do the singing. They also have two or three areas where people gather.

both of my parents were residents here, not now. 4 years ago I would have recommended this facility. That is not the case now. The menu is repeated all the time, The management has changed multiple times. The employee turnover is like a fast food restaurant. Management is not very accommodating and I had trouble getting the billing corrected.

Summerplace Assisted Living Community smelled old, like the place had been locked up.

Summerplace is very friendly and inviting, and the people that live there are more friendly. It was a very nice facility that had one, very nice main dining area and gardening areas. They had 2 different sizes of rooms; the ones without the balcony had a larger area and closets, while the ones with the balcony had a smaller room space. The staff was very friendly.

We have known somebody who had lived in Summerplace. The dining room looked nice as far as their seating arrangements, and they were pretty active. Everything was clean and seemed well taken care of, but we didn't like the size and condition of the apartment that they showed us. They seemed small to us for the amount of money that they charge. It didn't look very apartment-ish; it looked more like a room. It didn't seem to fit because my mom came from a two-story home.

Mom was actually going to move into Summerplace Assisted Living Community, but she didn't feel like it was the right atmosphere for her. It was smaller and a bit older, and one of the things she didn't like was that it was assigned seating for the meal, so you eat with the same people at every meal. The apartments were considerably smaller. They were just very tiny apartments; it felt small. The thing she liked about it was that it wasn't a long distance to walk to any of the activities. We walked in, and the dining area was right off the main lobby, the elevator was in the middle of the building, and once you got to the elevator, you then could keep continuing up the hall and do the puzzles. There was a big TV lounge, and they had a little library there. Then there was a large activity room for physical exercise for people that liked to do that right off the dining room.

We're very satisfied with the living arrangement of Summerplace. It's a very secure and warm environment. . The rooms are very nice and clean and the food was very good. The staff were all very efficient. Their activities varies from bus rides to card games. People would also come in to sing and dance. They're very good with my mother-in-law.

Summerplace is an assisted living community in East Portland that also offers memory care. I've had two clients there, and it's pretty good. It caters to a well- educated community for the most part. It's in a very nice location"”within a senior community in an upscale residential neighborhood. And they have a bus available to take residents to medical appointments and outings. The facility is huge: bright and airy and has a nice, comforting feeling to it. And the rooms are very nice. They're a good size, well kept up, with a microwave and refrigerator in a strip kitchen. The assisted living staff is friendly but could use more training. They don't have a good grasp of the population. The memory care staff is good, with low turnover. Activities are also good. They have music, movies, gardening, and outings for shopping and other kinds of things.
