We’ve placed our father in Brookdale Troutdale. The building is very nice and clean. The staff is very helpful. My father seems to be well cared for there. The room is spacious and has a private bath, which is nice. They took him on an outing, have sing-alongs and get-togethers, and watch movies together.

The staff at Brookdale Troutdale was extremely friendly. It was extremely clean. It seemed welcoming, but what we realized from there was that our parents aren't yet at that stage. It helped us to confirm that they're not quite ready for just a memory care facility. It was very lovely, very inviting, and very cute. They had lots of activities. We were genuinely pleased with how we were treated, the information that was shared with us, and the rooms and all that. However, based on that information, we realized that we think that they would do better in the assisted living community. Because of COVID restrictions we were not able to eat there, but we were able to speak to someone whose mother lives there and he said that the food was good, but he said that they don't give you many choices. I didn't take that necessarily as a negative, because if you're in memory care oftentimes that is very stressful on people who have memory challenges anyway. Unfortunately, we were not able to taste the food or anything. We were pretty impressed with their friendliness and the staff and all of that.

I am a past family member of someone who stayed at Brookdale Troutdale. I understand now why they did not have a waiting list. The floor staff - though kind and trying to do the best they could - were very under-trained and not able to pay attention to an advanced elderly man with Parkinson's and Sundowners. He was given minimal attention from day 1. The facility is small and crowded and not laid out in a way that is conducive to people who walk slow or are in wheelchairs.

The facility is small, not easily navigated by those in wheelchairs or limited mobility. The staff is undertrained in the care of those with Parkinson's, dementia and sundowners, and needing more than a passing bit of attention.

My husband has been there for nearly a year and a half. Finding placement for a person with advanced dementia with behavioral issues is extremely difficult. From the very beginning they were extremely encouraging and helpful. The staff are genuinely caring. Is everything perfect? No, but unless you can afford to pay for someplace with a 1:5 or 6 staffing ratio you won't find that. Caring for people with dementia isn't easy, but they do it to the best of their ability. Compared to other facilities that we looked at, This is still my first choice.

I went to Brookdale Troutdale and I would not recommend this place. Their dining area is small. The staff is not really good and they are understaffed.

The experience has been a good one at Brookdale Troutdale. It was the nicest place that we could find for our mother. The rooms are nice. The staff seems to be very helpful. It is good. It seems like a good place. It seems to be a warm and welcoming community. My mother has only been there for two and a half weeks now.

My mother moved in Brookdale Troutdale right soon after I had signed. The rooms are quite pleasant. They have a decent-sized bedroom and a large bathroom, with plenty of room to move around with walkers and wheelchairs. The bathing facilities are separate right across the hall from her. They have a pleasant dining room; I’ve eaten there several times, and the food is good. When I was there, the staff was pleasant. In the morning, they gather together and they serve coffee and tea. They have newspapers, and they do some mind exercises, questions, and some physical things. Most of them are seated, but they move their arms and legs. From time to time, they have entertainment come in and sing, play instruments, or give a talk. In the afternoon after lunch, if anybody wants to go for a walk outside, they’ll do that. Mom now is in a wheelchair, but they’ll push her around out there, too. In the mid-afternoon, they do different activities like some arts and crafts, and they have ice cream.

I like that Clare Bridge of Troutdale seemed clean and it didn't feel like you are in a prison. It seemed more open. The rooms seemed nice.

I visited Clare Bridge and it was fine. It was clean and it didn't smell. The staff was nice. The residents were having activities when I went there. Everything seemed fine.
