I have chosen the Primrose Retirement Community of Stillwater. Friends of mine are already there, so that helped. I traveled down to visit it, and it's very homey. The upkeep was excellent, but it doesn't feel so formal that it feels like a hotel. It felt like home. There are lots of activities and they are quick to include me and also the price was closer to what I needed. I told the person I was interviewing that I did a lot of reading and that I was a musician, so she jumped on that. She said there's a book club and they were trying to organize an in-house choir and I was a choir director for several years. She got very excited and so did I. I'm not so much of a bingo person, but reading and music were wonderful. I chose a two-bedroom. The second bedroom was small, and it's exactly what I wanted. It's on the second floor, but there's an elevator. There's a full kitchen and a balcony. They have a cleaning service every other week, and they provide a noon meal.

Primrose is excellent. The apartments are excellent, too. It is good value with good staff. It is also a very clean place. It is really good. They have good management and several activities. The dining area is excellent, too. They pretty much have all the amenities. They offer assisted living and independent living. They have a bar, a movie room, a spa, and an indoor pool. They have various things. It opened five years ago and is as clean, new, and nice as it was when it opened.

Primrose is very nice, clean, and has two-bedroom units with a lot of closet storage. It's attractive inside and out. The dining area is very interesting and winds around to separate areas. They don't take care of you once you go to the nursing home stage. The people enjoyed being there. They had a lot of activities and rooms for recreation.

Primrose Retirement Community of Stillwater had retirement and assisted living. I liked the dining room, but it is on three stories, and I felt my husband would get confused. The staff was very helpful though. They have several activities going on, like a workout room and movies to watch.

It was an impromptu visit when I went to Primrose Retirement Community of Stillwater. They were very nice, gave me a tour, and showed me three model rooms -- one that was in the assisted living area and two that were in the independent living area. I saw the dining facilities. They had a theater room, a room that was set up with a pool table, a bar area, and a library. It was very nice, but the location for me being way west of town wouldn't be as accessible for me and my family. They live more on the east on the opposite side where Primrose is. If you were in the assisted living, you do get all your meals. In the independent part, you just receive one meal a day, so you would have to be well enough that you could cook in your apartment. The apartments were very nice and very large. They had a lot more amenities, but they're set up as an independent living center, so you got people at all different stages health wise, physically and mentally. The majority of them are very independent. They do have a bus that takes residents to shopping and appointments.
