We will have my brother in Emerald Village Senior Living because it's just nearby and affordable. My mom is also there right now, and they do a good job with her, so we'll have two family members there. The staff is very helpful, upbeat, and very nice. She says the food's great too. They've got bingo, exercise, and arts and crafts classes. They are always cleaning up; the place is kept up very well.

I will be moving into the Emerald Village Retirement Community. It's beautiful and very nice. I will have a two-bedroom apartment. It's only ten years old. It seems to be very well run. I will have all the help I need. It has a beautiful living area for the community, and it has a fireplace in it. They have seating areas outside. They have planned activities like exercises, games, crafts, and music. One thing I like is that they have a Catholic church right inside the community, so that's nice. The staff members were all wonderful and very nice. They have a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. They have an outside courtyard where they have tables and people can gather.

I went to Emerald Village Retirement Community with my mother. I liked everything about it. The staff were very accommodating. Even the people that were living there seemed to be very kind and open to meeting new people. We liked what we saw as far as the cafeteria food plans went. We liked the size of the units, and we also liked the activities that they have for the assisted living people. I had a meal there, and they had a very large variety. They had teriyaki chicken, rice, and vegetables. I think there was a side like applesauce and then a dessert. They had hot coffee or whatever drink you wanted. It was very nice. I really, really like them a lot. If they had a downstairs unit, we would have put Mom there, but they did not have a downstairs unit. It was very quaint and very nice. They let us come into their rooms. Everybody, of course, is decorated separately. It was just very, very nice, and very clean, and the people were pleasant. They have a mass, it's not every week, but they have an option for mass there at the facility, because my mother is a Catholic, so that was important to us. And then they also have a lot of their activities like day to day. There was always an activity every day.

Because of my mother's needs, Emerald Village Retirement Community wasn't a good fit. It smelled like popcorn when we came in. The staff was friendly and they had a chapel right there. The place was pretty large and it would have been difficult for my mom who has dementia to navigate. They do not have memory care, and that was the other problem. If she progressed, she would have to be moved to a different facility. Physically, my mother is well. It's her memory that she has trouble with. The staff was very helpful. They had a nice community room and a library. It was right next to Saint Clarence Church, which was nice. It's on Lorain Road, and it's close to shopping and restaurants.

My mother has moved into Emerald Village Retirement Community. We chose it because they accept the Medicare waiver program, and they're close to where we live. The staff seems extremely friendly, and helpful. They met all the criteria that we were looking for. She loves the place. The rooms are very nice, well maintained, and spacious for what they are; it's a one-bedroom apartment type thing that she's in. They have a very, very nice staff there. She loves the food, but I haven't sampled the food because everything's locked down. You can't really get in there much for visitation now because of COVID. They seem to have planned activities every day for the residents to do. It's just a matter of whether the residents choose to do them or not.

My father lived here for over 3 years. Really had a good experience. Building is clean and nice. Staff members were very good. Food was tasty and whenever Dad was ill, staff worked to get him better. Recommend Emerald.

My mother moved into Emerald Village in December of 2017. This is a wonderful place. The building and grounds are lovely and kept spotless, the apartments are very nice, the food is excellent and the staff is the best! My brother and I have been more than impressed with the nurses, who endured some verbal abuse from our mom when she first moved in. She was reeling from all the changes in her life (at age 94) and took it out on the nurses as they went about their work of administering her medicines. They responded with professionalism, understanding and compassion. These ladies were so patient and kind! After a while, my mom adjusted, and she now appreciates what a great place EV is. She appreciates the nurses and aides who care for her so well. She says the dining room staff and the ladies who clean her apartment and collect and return her laundry are all friendly and make her feel cared for. My siblings and I feel very fortunate that our mom is at Emerald Village. We have peace of mind, knowing she is safe and well cared for and treated with kindness and respect.

Emerald Village was an excellent community. It was clean, and they had a lot of activities. It's not one that I'm going to select, but it was a very nice place, and I think that there are a lot of people who would love it. It was physically a beautiful setting, but of all the ones I've seen, it made me feel the least welcomed. Everybody was up in their room. Also, it's run by the Catholic church. The staff was very knowledgeable, responded to my questions, and were pleasant. It just did not seem like a real warm and welcoming place, which was something that's high on my list of things I would be looking for. I want the staff to feel like they enjoy working there.

I toured several places that accepted Medicaid, and Emerald Village was the best one. The staff was excellent. The rooms were very nice, clean, spacious for the most part, and looked very safe. They were equipped with what my mother would need. There were several activities that she would enjoy including bingo, field trips, and excursions. It's right next to a Catholic church, so it will be convenient for her to do activities at the church as well. What stood out were the people. They just looked like people that my mom would be interested in spending time with. The dining area looked fine, the chairs were good, and everything that I looked at was adequate.

This is an excellent facility with 120 independent apartments and 30 assisted living apartments. The complete staff are professional, helpful, and deliver excellent care in a compassionate manner at all times. As a nurse I highly recommend this facilty. There are numerous safety features that older facilities did not have, Great Activities Director. My mom loves it!

Emerald Village is very clean; the people are friendly; the residents seem happy; the staff seems delightful; and the food is really good. They have choices for their meals and they seem to offer a lot for less money -- I was very pleased. We’ll be getting a two-bedroom unit; it’s very nice, very clean and they do a good job in getting it ready for us. It’s in real good shape. It has a kitchenette with plenty of cupboard space and room for a small table and chairs. They have all kinds of activities -- all types of games ranging from Bingo to LCR and Farkle and they also have entertainment that comes in, such as singers. They also have educational lectures from time to time. They’ve taken a lot of trips; they do go into town to the concerts and ball games. They have art classes and they have a book discussion group. They have housekeeping once a week. They have an exercise room, a library, and computer room. They have a beautiful patio out back that overlooks Bradley woods. It is a family-oriented place where people intermingle quite a lot and have a real good time.

I went a couple of times to Emerald Village Retirement, and I really liked it. But financially it didn't work out for my mother, and they told me she wasn't good enough for there, like she needed more care, and they couldn't handle her. I liked the rooms, and I thought they were very nice. This place reminded me the most of the previous retirement place she was at. There was some independent living there but just a handful of assisted, and it gave me the feeling that these people were her own age.
