My mom is in Manorcare Health Services - Rocky River, and she doesn't like it. They made it to look really nice, but with the way my mom is being treated, she doesn't want to be there anymore. Appearance is one thing but what's going on in that facility is another. There's verbal and sometimes physical abuse. Wrong medications are given to my mom. Her bed and linen never get changed. She had to sleep on a wet bed and lay in her own feces for up to three hours at a time. There's dirty linen left in the room. The staff's attitude stinks. When my mom needs somebody, they just ignore her and don't do their jobs. They have activities like cards, poker, and sometimes movies. They have very tiny small portions of food too. The place is very dirty and they don't keep it clean. I'll give them credit for their therapy department which is very good.

During the time that my grand father and great uncle were being cared for at Manor Care, I visited multiple times and observed many aspects of the care provided. The staff were pleasant for the most part and some of the nurses really took a liking to and provided a type of friendship to my grand father. There was some issues with the physical therapy department keeping tabs on my great uncle. He often was not taken to his appointments for physical therapy after breaking his leg. He ended up staying an extra two weeks because of this.
