"I stayed at this facility for 3 weeks for the purpose of rehab for a combination of broken bones. The facilities were beautiful, artwork on the walls and chandeliers in the hallways. Very nice dining area with decent food and a good amount of choices. Dining staff were great. I needed my food cut up and there was no problem. The facility is clean and the cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and I could control the air conditioning and lighting. The rehab staff were great, and I felt like I got the best care possible from them. I had doctor and surgery appointments while I was there, and the administrative staff got the times mixed up on several occasions and it was extremely stressful. The nursing staff, however, were competent and knowledgeable and proactive on the part of the patient. They were gold, in my opinion. The resident doctor was very good, as well. The transportation people were wonderul too and waited out my hospital surgery to take me home. When I first arrived at the home, I was totally bedridden for a week. The aides were slow to answer the call button. They sometimes were at the receptionist's desk just hanging out and ignoring all calls. I timed them, and not one ever came before 15 minutes, and that's tough when you are on a bed pan. Many times it was 30-45 minutes. I had several night episodes where I was choking and couldn't breathe (still not sure why) for a few minutes, and it was no comfort to know that it was pointless trying to call anyone. They would never get there in time if I should pass out. One of the aides went to get some water that I requested and never returned with my mug. That is very stressful when you can't get out of bed. I got the water from another aide an hour later. I was at the home for 2 weeks and got 3 showers while there. The aides again did not seem to want to bother and the shower schedule was pointless many times. I do want to say that there were a couple of aides that were compassionate, and I was always relieved whenever they were on duty. Once I was able to maneuver in a wheelchair, I became less stressed. (I do want to say that I was in a local hospital for a week before I arrived at this home, and the aides were just as uncaring.) If I were not totally bedridden, I would recommend this home and would actually enjoy staying there again."
