She does like the food there. The facility is very nice and comfortable. They are very well taken care of, I would say. She's not in a position where she can use those facilities at this time. The staff has been great from the admissions to the social worker, to the physician assistant, the physician, and the nurses, they're all great."

"For anyone who needs to find QUALITY care for their loved one in the West Essex / northern NJ area, please - for the sake of your loved one AND you - just go straight to Green Hill. My father was neglected and almost died in another area facility. He was transferred to Green Hill and is doing so much better. They know how to deal with dementia patients - with dignity, respect and true medical care, even during this year of pandemic. The staff is considerate and friendly, the food is good, and their standards during the pandemic are at par with hospital level - and I know, because my husband works at a hospital. The facility looks like, and we learned, was a former hotel/respite site during the 1940s. The inside is spacious, and with social distancing, that's a GOOD thing. My father is limited in his activity level due to his dementia, but our visits have been SO encouraging. We almost lost my father, so believe me when I tell you, this facility was divine intervention."

"My Mom’s stay was a unique situation in that she was transferred to this nursing home from the hospital under the care of hospice thinking she had three to six months to live. The day before she left the hospital, my Mom began to decline more quickly, but the transfer took place anyway. Although she passed away six hours after arriving, she was in the hands of the most compassionate people we ever met. She was meant to be at this facility as her passing was extremely peaceful. They deligently took care of the admission process with the doctor there to do an evaluation and setting up her medications. The nurse kept a close eye on her to ensure her comfort while emotionally supporting me during this transition. We were meant to be here during my Mom’s final hours."

"My Mother-in-Law was at staying at Bayshore Health Care Center twice. She has received an excellent care on both occasion. She has impressed with the caring and personalized approach of all the nurses, nursing aids and her rehabilitation therapists. I cannot be thankful enough to all the staff there."

"In June 2011 I received a call at the Senior Housing where my Mom had been living for over 15 years. They told me that after her latest surgery and being sent home from a different "rehab - nursing home" facility she was not doring well. I live in California and my Mom was in NJ. I made several inquiries on the internet to find out who would take a Medicare patient and I was given the name of two facilities in Monmouth County. I called the next day - Victoria House and the explained everything to me. The following day the went with a nurse to visit my Mom at her apartment and told me under no circumstances could she take care of her self - and they picked her up that day. This was one of the scariest things I had ever done - since I did not know these people or about their facility. As it turns out - it was a great place for my mom. I went back to NJ to close my mom's apartment and get her ready for maybe some day to move to the assisted living side. Victoria House and their staff help me arrange everything. I had one week to accomplish this. To make a very long story shorter - Mom eventually move to the assisted living section - but it was short lived - another fracture in her crumbling spine and another surgery. She never went back to the Assisted living section again. I would call my Mom daily, talk to the nurse's station daily and they were always willing to accommdate my many questions and phone calls. My Mom had a church daughter that checked on her regularly and told me that the care was incredible. Mom enjoyed the care she was getting and the nurses and staff that took care of her. During the last week of her life, they made it very confortable for my Mom - playing her favorite music, attending to her heel wound and doing everything to make my MOM cofortable in her journey to her new home. I will also be eternally grateful knowing that they truly cared for my Mom - she wasn't just another patient - she wasn't just another paycheck - but a humane being that deserved to be treated with compassion and dignity.
