Nursing Home Communities in Tupelo, MS

"I have prior experience from working and visiting other nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I've never worked for The Meadows, but I visited the facility several times while my grandmother recovered there from open heart surgery for almost 2 months. The facility is the best available anywhere! The building doesn't even appear to be a nursing home or assisted living facility, which is important to our elderly loved ones who want to keep some of their independence (or younger loved ones who absolutely despise being placed in a facility and not able to recover at home). When you enter the building, there's no smell of urine or feces, which is present in every other facility I've visited. It has a fresh, flowery odor and not like a bad odor cover-up. The staff, from the janitorial staff to the administration, is awesome! I have a very picky grandmother and they did everything possible to make her happy and comfortable, such as providing her favorite foods for meals and allowing her to do things on her own while they watched over her (instead of doing everything for her). They are very accommodating and knowledgeable. They explain everything to you so that you understand everything that will occur. I never felt like I had to hang around or sneak up on them to make sure they were doing their job and taking care of my grandmother. It's a great atmosphere that provides exceptional southern hospitality. On top of all that, my grandmother recovered much faster at this facility than expected. The staff consists of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and everything else available for a safe, speedy rehabilitation. If I had to be placed in an assisted living facility, I would definitely choose The Meadows of Fulton, MS. "

"I live in Collierville, TN. My mother is 84 and has been to Golden Living Nursing Home in Amory, MS, my home town. We need to move her closer to me. The price of her private room doubled and we can no longer afford to pay the difference. She has Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross. My mother qualified in the Diversion Program of Medicaid and is now in an assisted living facility. However, I am looking at other options. Mom moved into her community and she loves it there. She thinks the staff is terrific, very conscientious, helpful and warm. I haven't heard her that happy in many, many years. I don't know if I would have even looked at this community if it weren't for your suggestions and help with the process, including the financial advice. But I had to move her near my place. It's been a great journey for mom to stay in Golden Living Center. "

"My grandmother moved into Union County Health and Rehabilitation Center. She's in a private room, it's really nice and spacious. They can't have visitors because of the COVID, they were put on lockdown. The staff has been really helpful in keeping us informed about how she's doing, so we're really pleased. Their dining area and whole facility is really nice."

"My mom is now at New Albany Health and Rehab Center. It's very nice. It seems to be very welcoming and clean. It is decorated sort of a welcoming-type situation where everything is updated. It doesn't look institutionalized. There is artwork on the wall. Everybody is out of the rooms and moving around. The nurses are very nice and helpful. They seem to be taking COVID precautions. I haven't tried the food, but my mother has not complained about the food. They have a lot of activities, it seems like because my mom is always talking about that they're doing this or that. There are a lot of arts and crafts, fingernail painting, just different things to get them together. They were making crafts like they did something for Thanksgiving. She has enjoyed the activities. They have just been accommodating and helpful with the process."

"I was well pleased with the cleanliness that Longwood had. It didn't smell like a nursing home. Also, everybody seemed to be well-organized and knew what they were doing and what they need to be doing. They just didn't go that little extra mile. However, I also know that they're stretched out. Each staff had to take care of 10 people. They still did a good job despite what they had. The therapists were excellent. My dad was stubborn and didn't want to do what anybody said. They could work it around to make it look like it was his idea to do the things that they needed him to do. "
