Assisted Living Communities in Columbus, MS

"We went into a lot of different assisted living facilities before deciding on The Arrington. A lot of them have a nursing home atmosphere or the facility itself looked like a nursing home, but this one is not. It looks homey and the furnishing in the mutual areas is very inviting. This is a fairly new facility – it's clean, upgraded and everything is modern. They're just wonderful and the nicest. The apartments have a bedroom, living room, bathroom, a little refrigerator and a sink. But we chose the one large room. With that, we were able to have a queen sized bed, a drawer, a dresser, 2 recliners, a love seat, a chair, some tables, lamps and a bookcase. It's large enough to be homey. They have a dementia unit, in a separate area that if they get kind of bad they can go into. That's in the same building. My mother has dementia. Right now they can both stay in the assisted living, but if the time comes that she may have to move into the dementia area, then my step dad could still be in the same building and be with her every day. Besides the dementia area in the assisted living, across the road is the nursing home. And they also have an Alzheimer's unit that is very well known in the area. A lot of places have different prices, they add for medical management, for cable and all stuff. We have one price that includes everything. Their staff is very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. They really enjoy the Bible studies and the church activities. The manicures for the ladies are like an activity, so there's no charge for that. In the beauty shop, they do a good job. They do a lot of bingo, card games and dominoes. Everything has been wonderful. I would highly recommend this place. "

"Goldton at Adelaide is phenomenal. They're great. It's super nice, and compared to the Virginia prices, it's extremely reasonable. The staff who gave the tour was awesome. I would feel comfortable living there. They don't have one-bedroom or studio options for independent living. All they have are houses that rent for $4000, which is great, but it's over our budget for now. It's in the A-category if I would give it a grade. The activities are great. They have a bus to take them around. They have different things to do. They have cards. My mom would be very happy there. It's across a country club, and for a small town, they have a top-notch facility."

"I'm very pleased with Collegeview Personal Care Home. They're very caring and very attentive to the residents. They have a small community. They only have six residents in the entire place, so they get a lot of care. My mother has a private room with private bath. It has all the amenities, a television, and a patio where the residents can go out and sit. It's right across the street from me. It's a very nice place. The staff is very good. The food is excellent. I had lunch with her today, and it was very good. They have games for the people to play, they have a sing-along once in a while, they have somebody come in and play an instrument, and the guests are actually allowed to ride with the owner. She takes them on rides in her car, and they enjoy that."

"My mother is in Trinity Place. The food is good. It is on a home-cooking level. She has a small apartment, and it very well kept. I like the people, and I like that it has security. "

"I had to opportunity to visit the facility and joined in an activity called "community BINGO'. The laughter during this activity was plentiful. What impressed me most was the interaction of the residents with the Staff. There is genuine LOVE between the two. What a refreshing event. I left not only impressed with the building and furnishings but with the comfort and safety provided not just from the facility itself but in the feelings that even I experienced during my visit. I sure hope there is not a wait list when I am ready to move in.! "

"My relative is in Waverly Care Home. It's a nice place. Obviously, most of the folks there are old. I think he might be a little bit younger than the average up there, but they've got some that are in his age. They're very personal with their care. They're taking care of him. We're happy with it. They're doing a great job. The facilities don't match the one here in Jackson. It is not what everyone would consider the top rated care home, but it's very good. It's got everything that they need. They serve good meals. I've seen the food and I've talked to people about it and they are all very happy. So far, he said it's really good. They have some games that they play like bingo. He is needing some help because of his eyesight, and they assign somebody over there to help him while playing bingo. There are some other games that they play, but I'm not sure what they are."
