My mother went to the Cedars Rehab at Trace Way Retirement Community. They did everything that they needed to do and everything possible for her. She was only there for a week. Because of the complications and stuff that she had, there wasn't anything they could do for her other than give her the medicine that she needed. They sent her to rehab with an infusion that she had to have every day. She had a port put in and an infusion she had to have every day of the antibiotics and they did all that. They did everything they were supposed to do. The interaction with the staff was just fine. They talked to us and they tried to do everything they could for my mom while she was there. She was in a private room and it was kind of small. A larger room became available and they moved out her stuff and moved her to the larger room. She was more comfortable for the last three or four days. The place was clean. Everybody's friendly. It appeared to be well laid out where they can help and assist the patients as they needed to. They had a dining room where everyone went if they chose to. If they couldn't, then they could eat in their room. They had activities and my mom tried to participate in some. I know they had an ice cream day that she got to go to one afternoon. They're all in their wheelchairs or walkers or however, they get around. Everybody made friends with each other. Everything we experienced so far was good. She was well pleased with the food. She got rehab every day.

My mother is going to move into Trace Way Retirement Community. The grounds are well-kept. The inside of the facility is clean and does not have any odors. They have taken all the carpet out of the rooms and they do have down faux wood. The residents I talked to all said that the food was good. The rooms are a little small, but it's an assisted living place. The lady who showed us around was nice, answered all our questions, and gave us even more information. My mother likes it because it's right in town. They had a sign posted today, and they had some kind of art activity and were having an outing to a Fish House to eat.

My mother-in-law and I did a tour at Traceway Retirement Community. It was nice but it was also much older. It's still very well-kept though and the staff was as friendly as could be. The residents all seemed to be very happy there. They did not have much availability and my mother-in-law was kind of particular about the type of room that she wanted. They had so many people on a waitlist for that type of room and it would have been a long wait time, so that was mainly the reason that we said we'll just take this place off our list. It was under the administration of the Methodist Conference, I believe it's one of their ministries. We started the tour by meeting a lady in assisted living and to me, their assisted living doesn't have a level where you could graduate, as far as what they did for you. It was more like a nursing home. They had their own individual rooms, but with a lot of care and my mother-in-law was not at that point so that was not what she was looking for. She was looking for an assisted living where she would feel independent as well. The place was older, but that was not a deterrent. It was still spotlessly clean and the residents had everything they needed.

The Traceway Retirement Community in Tupelo has everything. Cottages, assisted living, nursing care, and memory care. It's run by the Methodist Church and it has everything. It's in Mississippi too so it's very good and we would recommend it. The tour experience we had was very favorable. The staff is very professional and first-rate. It's an older facility and I'm not sure what year it was started, but they have upgraded and everything so it's very good. It's located in the west part of Tupelo and they've had adequate ground so they've expanded. Now they have greenhouse homes so they're using environmentally-friendly construction product materials. We ate there several times. We also had friends who were there and we went to visit them and ate with them. The people that we knew that were living there were very happy. They have good food, good attention, good activities, and a good atmosphere. Our friends' rooms were very nice and a good size. Different churches come in and do singing and preaching. They also have physical exercises. They have a quilt group and a book group too. The facility is built in such a place that is a good neighborhood for walking. I think the value is very good.

My mother is in Green Houses at Traceway Retirement Community in Tupelo. She has full-time care. It's a nursing home. They give great care and they look after her. The Green Houses are like a family home. There are only 10 to 12 residents in each home. Everything's nice. They're friendly and they do whatever she needs. They have the kitchen and their own dining table and a living room with the recliners and she has her own room. It's big enough. It's like a standard size room and it has its own bathroom with a shower. Each room has it's own shower, a bathroom and a nice window at the back, cable and the air-conditioner controls. They let you decorate it like you want to.

Caretakers seldom spoke to resident or family members. Very unfriendly. Heard caretakers fussing about a resident out loud in common area. Extremely poor communication with family when resident fell and also when resident was in terrible pain and distress.

They were wonderful and very attentive with adequate food. Traceway Retirement is an older community and it shows its age. They don't have room to expand. Their first building, which was the oldest building as it was built in the 70s, and the apartments have concrete block walls and are very small. I felt like I was in a dormitory room. It doesn't have the polish and luxurious feel of the other places. The personnel was extremely nice, and we were able to talk to more of the residents than at the other places we visited. Every resident was praising their services, so they are very happy people who live there.

We had visited Trace Way Retirement Community, and the staff seemed very confident. Everything was clean and good. The rooms were adequate. The dining room was pretty large, and it looked adequately supplied.

Trace way Retirement Community offers more services, it is reasonably priced, clean, and just everything about them that I was looking for was excellent. You can have a pet, and there is a beautiful lake, a lot of walking area, they are close to all the services you want like the stores, and they offer transportation. I can't think of anything negative to say. They got a sewing group and a gloving group, they meet for games, and it is really up to the residents what they want, whatever they suggest. If there is a group or if they want to do something, they try to get together and provide it. There is a health club and regular exercise groups, and there is a doctor on the staff. There is a pharmacy on the grounds, and there is a nurse on 24-hour call or duty. She is right there, and all you have to do when you are having a problem is press the button and they will come right away to see what is wrong with you and have them help you. They are doing everything that anybody can expect them to.

Traceway Retirement Community was in my parents' hometown and they were familiar with it for many years. They stayed there for 3 years. We liked their services. They had a room which was the right size for them at that time. They had some help from their housekeeping and they had optional laundry. The staff was friendly and the food was good. But we have to move them to a facility closed to us when they were both diagnosed with alzeimer's. I would recommend Traceway Retirement Community to others.

I have visited this facility many times delivering flowers to residents. The staff were always friendly. The nurses seemed to care for the patients very well. The facility was always clean and decorated very nicely. The colors that they used to decorate were of a restful nature. The residents all seemed to be content with the care they were receiving at Cedars Health Center. Although many wished for home and more family visits, they seemed very well cared for. One lady in particular received regular flower deliveries from her son. He lived in California and was not able to visit as he would have like to. All the staff were very fond of her. When they would see me coming with flowers, they would always peek in on her so she could show them the flowers. She passed away and was mourned by the whole staff who said she was the bright spot in their day because she was always happy and smiling. Overall with the caring staff including nurses, housekeepers, and the grounds keepers this is a well run very clean and comfortable facility. I would consider Cedars Health Center for assisted living for either myself or for a family member.
