"My sister needed to be transferred, so I had her moved to Woodridge Terrace. The place was situated in a bad part of town. I did not like the nursing staff since they would never answer the phone. It would just keep ringing. She was in a very small room with a window way up high with blue drapes that kept out all of the light. It looked like a very old place, like a VA hospital. The food was good, though. "

"My Mom (97 years old) came from Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette for rehab her following a below the knee amputation. She received the finest care I could expect: all staff, nurses, therapists, CNAs, Doctor and Social Worker were kind, caring, got to know her and love her. The food was outstanding, and when she was discharged to go home, she felt kind of wistful leaving. She made many friends, and was treated with dignity, love and attention by a very dedicated, well-trained and committed staff. "

"My husband was at PowerBack Rehabilitation Lafayette. Every time we were there the nurses were good, even when he was rebelling, and they usually came in right away. It's a new building with a nice lobby. However, one staff member -- who was kind of a supervisor -- was not comforting when the patients were released. When the therapy plateaued, they told me that they would move him to a nursing home. When we complained about the location being too far (because I don't drive), she said that it's the only place that would take Medicaid. After considering it and the negative feedback from a friend about that nursing home, we told them we didn't want to move my husband there. Then she told me we better figure out where we want to put him or they would put him the car and we could just take him home. She was a real sharp-mouthed woman. They don't give you any comfort. They called a meeting with the director, the Medicaid lady, and the social worker, and none of them were comforting. They said that they were waiving the second month fee because everything had been done wrong with my husband. From day one the primary physician and everyone all the way down the line did everything wrong with him. The lady following up on the Medicaid was cold and the upper management was all very rude. He had a private room there that was bigger than what he has now. The nurses and aides were nice, but not the upper management. Overall, between the building and nurses, it was good, it was humane, and the physical therapy was good. My husband complained at the end that when he called them they wouldn't come, and he fell twice while he waited. The place itself was nice, clean, and new. They gave the residents ground food which didn't have any flavor."

"My mom went to Aviva after being discharged from the hospital. She was at Aviva almost 2 weeks for rehab. The room was clean, bright, fresh, and overall nice. The staff was excellent in caring for my mom. They were friendly, knowledgeable, capable, and helpful. My mom loved the food there, I haven't seen her eat so well in a long time. There was a lot of variety on the menu. My mom was quarantined at the time, so she didn't participate in any activities. We were able to communicate by phone using google duo and face time. The staff communicated with our family on her progress and did a great job updating us. We would highly recommend Aviva to others."

"The staff is both professional and caring. I was encouraged and supported by their work and words constantly. This agency is the best. The staff is so proactive they practically have you admitted before you arrive and discharged before you leave. no horrible waiting. PT and OT meet the client where they are and work from there instead of pushing their agenda on the client. Beds and rooms are clean, professional, and more of a sense of a community than a facility. The food is incredibly delicious. Better than home and restuarants. I did my best and recooperated well here and 90% of that was due to the attitude and assistance of staff. "

"My mother moved into Colorado State Veterans Home, and so far she's getting really good care. They could improve on the pricing for self-pay; it's rather high. The nurses are very pleasant and responsive to patients' needs. We had a care meeting that was very informative. The only thing right now is the financial part, which I'm not happy with. I'm hoping to get that resolved. They have lots of activities, and daily things for the residents. They've been really trying to get my mom to participate. My mom complains about the food. She doesn't have any teeth so she's not happy with the food, but I have seen their menu, and they have several choices. My mother chooses not to go to the dining area, and she has her food in her room. Their cost is $350 a day. The cleanliness is awesome. I've been to a lot of other communities where there's a smell, and there wasn't anything like that there."

"Life Care Center of Westminster provides rehabilitation services that can't be beat. Caring therapists took time to ensure my mom had everything that she needed. The nursing staff were caring and attentive, and when we thought we had a problem with how long my mom would have before leaving; administrators responded quickly, and resolved our issues immediately. Everybody was so helpful and friendly, they all knew my and my families names and said hello every time they saw us. I couldn't ask for a better place for mom. "

"My husband is in Balfour Retirement Community. He first went there for nursing care and then he transitioned over to assisted living. He's got some form of Parkinson's, still undiagnosed, and he's got depression. Several of the places turned him down because of his depression, which shocked me. Balfour was the best match for him. A lot of it was due to his diet. He is gluten- free, dairy-free, and low-sodium because of his kidney disease. A lot of these places didn't have a menu that would work for him. That was one of the deciding factors besides the fact that they said yes, but they said they would only accept him if he went first into nursing care because they felt like he had so many needs and they wanted to be able to help him there. It turned out that actually, my husband had been getting stronger in rehab. He was in rehab for a month and within less than a week after he got to Balfour, we had a care conference, and it was unanimous that he should go to assisted living. He's in a studio, which is one of the smaller units, but that was fine. It's also what we could afford. They have a lot of activities except for right now, they have a breakout of COVID, so there are no activities now. There was entertainment in the form of singing and music almost every single day, probably six out of seven days. If you're somebody who likes cards, puzzles, bingo, and games like that, they're offered daily. They have things like flower arranging and gardening-type stuff, and they have walks outside. They are very heavy into activities and it makes sense because their community fee is $7500, which blew me away. The nice thing for me is if I go to Balfour in the future, that same fee will cover me. We would not have to pay again for me to come there. I'm happy he's there. There's a lot of nursing, but he's at a point right now where he needs almost no services. I think they bathe him and that's about the only service that they give him. He's on a very limited menu, so for him, it's rough. He has four entrees and very quickly that gets boring, but they try. One time, the head dietitian got the chef to make a special apple crisp that was gluten and dairy free and it was like hallelujah. They have one big problem and that is they have a single elevator in the assisted living area and that elevator broke for two days. My husband had these treatments daily that he had to get to. I called the nurses and I said, "You have to help me, but we got to get him down the stairs" and they did and they got him back up and the next day it was still broken, so they got him back down. By the time we got back from the treatment, the elevator was working. To me, anybody who has a single elevator and no backup system, that's not good. It's very expensive compared to other places. The units are tiny, which is fine for my husband, but there were some places I saw that were like double the size literally for less money."

"It was excellent and beautiful, but my mother would not qualify to live there. The rooms were very nice, very clean, and laid out well for the seniors. I saw the activity room, but there was no activity going on. I saw the menu and it was a five."

"I had been in Sable Care Center several times for rehab, whenever I came from the hospital. It was a very nice and clean place. The food was very good and the nursing staff was very nice. "

"The Summit was nice. It was an older facility that has been remodeled and bought over in the last three years. It was immaculate, but for some reasons my mother did not like this facility. They were very nice. The administrator was extremely nice because we were over there a couple of times. They had decorated for Halloween, and they had a facility animal -- a dog -- and then a couple of people had small dogs, so they allowed you to have your pets. It had a lot of advantages. Everything there was immaculate. They had new bathroom facilities that had been remodeled and included like a bathtub that you step into and close the door like you see on TV. They have been working hard at remodeling, painting, and things like that. It is located among an older housing area, but it is a clean area, and they are remodeling. The biggest downside from the outside would be parking. "

"There are a lot of very caring people at St. Paul Health Center, and there are some nurses that my dad has really gotten along with over the last month that he has been there. He is hard to please, but most of them are doing a good job, and he is happy with them. He has a private room with a bathroom. For most of the time, it is clean. He has some complaints about laundry not being done as frequently as he would like, and the response time can sometimes be slow depending on who else needs help. "
