"The staff’s attitude was excellent at St. John’s Rehab. The room was like a 1-bedroom hotel room and had a couch in it, television, and it was private. They have a dining room in rehab, but nobody uses it. It was the size of about 3 kitchens with three or four tables in it and a television, and they use it for a lot of functions. They have various kinds of activities once a week, they had a recreational activities, field trips, and people came in with flower arranging. We had recreational therapy as well and crafts. "

"My mom moved to Shoreline Care Center. The staff is great. They do their best, however, they are understaffed tremendously. The facility is great. They are remodeling, and repainting, and they're trying to upgrade. They have music. They do coloring. They paint nails. While I've been there those are the activities they have. I know they have others, and they have different times of day. The food is good."

"My husband is currently in Vista Cove Care Center at Santa Paula. They're very guarded because of COVID. They're like a hospital and you can't go in there without a mask. They won't even let you go in to visit unless there's an appointment. I appreciate what they're doing, but it is frustrating for me because I want to go see him and I have to make an appointment. I know it takes so long, but I understand why they have to do that so it's OK. I asked if someone could call me and let me know how he's doing, and the lady in charge of the physical therapy department called. She was very nice. It looks very nice; it has nice chairs outside where you can sit in the shade and have umbrella-covered tables. And in the back, they have sort of a tent so you don't have to be in the sun. So they bring him out and we can sit outside and talk to him. His insurance is paying for it. I'm satisfied. He's safe and in good condition and he seems happy when I see him. He's not crabby or angry or anything, so I'm assuming he's content."

"Camarillo Healthcare Center is really nice, and the people are helpful. My parents don't have any problems. We see most of the staff talking to patients, especially those for long-term care. I would recommend them to anybody because their care is really good. "

"Lovely environment and a surprise when we went in side. Home like atmosphere and the people living there told us the food is good and they get great care. Know a couple of people who reside at Los Robles Care Center who have not one complaint. (surprising too) "

"Mary Health of the Sick is amazing. We had a wonderful experience with my father. He has admitted for a 10 rehab stay and the whole process was great. Very clean facility and a loving and caring staff. Physical therapist and OT did a wonderful job helping dad get his strength back. I fell in love with the place and I am considering volunteering to give back. HIGHLY recommend it."

"I did visit Fillmore Convalescent Center for my daughter and the staff was very friendly. The facility looked very nice. Their rooms have two beds in it and it was well spaced apart and that was very nice. It looked like they offer a very nice accommodation. Their dining is very nice as well. They also had a snack bar where they could buy everything. With their activities, they have stuff like bingo and bowling. "

"I feel incredibly fortunate that my loved one was admitted to Oakview for a short-term rehabilitation stay. Every department truly went above and beyond to support us. The admissions team was wonderful to work with, they guided me through every step, answered all my questions, and made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and reassuring. The nursing staff and CNAs were exceptional, kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. They provided excellent care while always showing genuine compassion. The OT and PT teams were top-tier; they worked diligently and offered constant encouragement, helping ensure real progress was made. The facility itself is beautiful and impeccably clean and well maintained. We were also impressed by the quality of the meals and the effort made to accommodate special dietary requests. Residents are engaged throughout the day with activities, and it’s clear they are treated with dignity and like family. The front lobby staff and nursing clerk always greeted us with warm smiles and were eager to help with anything we needed. When it came time for discharge, the social worker went above and beyond to connect us with helpful resources for continued care. We were genuinely sad when our stay came to an end. Oakview is a truly special place with an incredible team. Thank you, Oakview, for everything."

"My mom is in rehab at Thousand Oaks Healthcare Center. The most important thing is she is happy there. She said it's very clean, and it smells good. All the nurses and the staff are very nice. The grounds are very pretty. They have some outside grounds where people could go walk around or roll around. She's been very happy there. They're very careful about testing you for COVID before you go in there. It's a very nice facility. I haven't had a meal there, but she has. I don't know how the meals are, but they've been accommodating to her. My mom is in a two-person bedroom, but she's by herself in there. It has its own private bathroom. It has a closet that you can put your things in. They have amenities for people to help them walk. She has her own wheelchair to help her move around."

"Out of the couple of times I visited Heartland Home Residential, it was very, very quiet. It’s spotlessly clean. The facility has a license for 6 patients and 4 of them have Alzheimer's. These women sit on a couch all day long and they’re not up and doing anything, so my mom is lonely. In that respect, it was probably not a good choice. She basically sits in her chair and we finally had to say if they can at least get her up, get her walking and get her moving. She’s still able to walk, and they don’t even do that. She likes breakfast and lunch, but she does not like the dinners at all. She says it’s processed and packaged food. There aren't many home-cooked meals. I see fruit and vegetables when I’m there, but as far as the main course, she says she sees a lot of things come out of a package. The owner is absolutely wonderful. She comes in and talks to my mom quite a bit. She is just delightful. I have never had a problem with the staff. They’ve always been very, very nice and caring, but the main problem is that they don’t do any activities at all. "

"My mother needed a place to recover after a hospital stay and was moved to Sherwood. First, I was pleasantly surprised at the beauty and cleanliness of the facility. I think they have undergone renovation and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is so kind, attentive, and patient with my mom who has dementia. The food was surprisingly good. It seemed homemade instead of the typical awful hospital food. I was also impressed when my mom refused to take her meds and the staff thought of creative ways to get her to take her meds, (e.g. crushing pills and hiding them in her food — with my permission of course). Thank you helping my mom heal while keeping her safe and well cared for. "

"My father-in-law stayed in the acute rehab unit of Los Robles, and it was very good. The physicians, nurses, assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and all other staff members were very good. He was by himself. His room was very good; it was quite spacious and comfortable. Because he had a lot of dietary restrictions, meals were made to fit his dietary needs, and that was very good. They had some group activities, but my father-in-law was not up to participating in anything. "

"I've got some friends who live in Casa Dorinda. It's a very high-end, beautiful, but quite expensive place. That's the top-of-the-line, incredible food, and beautiful architecture. Everything about that place is excellent. The staff was very attentive, polite, and delightful. The food is excellent, and even their cappuccinos are good. I noticed they were having an exercise class, they had lots of activities, and took different buses to different places."
