LiveWell - Cary wasn't something that we would be interested in, but I'm sure it served the purpose. It's a very small home. It was a nice little group setting for somebody that would need that. It was secure and it was clean. They had shared bathrooms. We saw a common living room, an outdoor area, a dining area, and a kitchen. Everyone seemed to have pretty close care.
About LiveWell @ Wessex in Cary, North Carolina
Located in Cary, our senior care home offers a peaceful and picturesque setting, providing an ideal environment for aging loved ones to thrive. With a focus on individualized care and attention, we offer a unique 1:3 staff-to-resident ratio, ensuring that each resident receives the personalized care and attention they deserve. Unlike large, impersonal memory care or assisted living facilities, our home provides an intimate, nurturing environment where residents feel comfortable, safe, and valued. Our highly-trained team (led by our RN Administrator) focuses on memory care (non-locked units), offering tailored support to seniors with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. Smaller care home environments offer a model of care that understands the challenges families face when caring for a loved one with memory loss, and we are here to provide relief, ensuring that residents receive the best care possible in a structured and supportive environment. At LiveWell, we focus on creating a sense of familiarity and routine, which is essential in memory care. Our personalized care plans ensure that each resident’s unique needs are met while preserving dignity and promoting independence. In addition to memory care, LiveWell offers comprehensive assisted living services for seniors who may require help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, medication management, and mobility assistance. Our caregivers provide 24-hour support, ensuring that residents are comfortable and well cared for at all times. Our assisted living services are designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents by fostering independence, promoting physical and mental well-being, and encouraging social engagement. At LiveWell, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming, and home environment for all our residents. With a maximum of just six residents, our micro-community fosters close relationships between staff and residents, allowing for personalized attention and care that larger memory care facilities and elder care services often cannot provide. Our home is equipped with comfortable private rooms, communal living spaces, and outdoor areas where residents can enjoy nature and fresh air. I only give it a one star so that my review will show for others. Avoid Livewell facilities! My beautiful Mother in law was a resident in 2022 at the Livewell Memory Care in Cary NC near SAS. She died less than 2 weeks later from head trauma due to a fall in the bathroom. After alot of interviews with their nurse and director we thought this would be a great and safe place for her. Even with her care plan in place, a contract in place that stated that a nurse would be available 24 hrs a day, we had to be there several times a day to make sure she was given her medication, and had her water in her walker, and the aides understood her care plan. They never seemed to understand that a careplan was in place, nor did they follow thru on any of the care plan. Medical issues that we saw when we visited her during her brief stay were not logged into any medical books, and aides from one shift did not know that any incidents had occurred on other shifts. The bathroom was not equipped with safety rails across from the commode and we donated several rails to the home for them to install for safety. On her plan was that she was to have her wheelchair after lunch and was never to be left alone in the bathroom due to her cancer illness and fatigue brought on by her cancer. While we were there the first week, the aid left her alone in the bathroom and we had to reeducate the staff as to her care plan. She was only a resident for less that 13 days when she was left alone in the bathroom without a walker, without an aide standing by, and , she fell, in the bathroom and had major head trauma and bleeding. She died a week later in pain, in Hospice, from major head trauma and bleeding on the brain. The director of the facility did she keep in touch once my MIL was in Hospice and when I went to remove her belongings, the staff did not know my MILs condition, nor that she was in Hospice and would not be returning. I filled a complaint with NC and they found the facility negligent and fined them however, they were not downgraded to reflect this. Her death certificate states that she died from trauma sustained in the facility.

My husband was at Livewell for 3 months. Despite their high cost and advertisement of amenities, I found the care and amenities to be very average and I was dissatisfied. I transferred my husband to another small facility where he was very happy and got excellent care

The staff of LiveWell Cary was very impressive. The food was very good. As soon as my husband walked into the house, he said it was nice. After lunch, he watched one of the aides help a man to his walker and said, "I like the people." I've only played bingo one time and there was somebody helping each person.
