Staff at the assisted living home receive training on dementia and how to identify resident needs when the resident may have difficulty expressing their wishes and needs. At the Memory Care home staff receive this and other training on meeting the residents' needs and keeping them engaged in meaningful activities, as well as how to deal with difficult behaviors. The key is to understand each resident and how the may express what they need or want so that we can keep them comfortable and happy, since they often cannot communicate as they once did.
