Disappointed

I would rate Emerald Nursing Facility on Grover Street in Omaha is at a 0. A couple nurses not doing their job. They just socialize to avoid doing their job. The social worker runs around like a chicken with his head copped off. And not addressing the issues . The administrator is too inexperienced to be in charge of this facility that is not fully staffed. The administrator also not willing to address issues or communicate. Can’t seem to get the staff to do their job especially on the overnight shift. The transportation coordinator is difficult to reach to set appointments

My husband has been at Golden Living Center for three weeks now. They seem to be taking really good care of him, and I can call him or call them anytime 24 hours a day. He likes the food. I would surely recommend them because they seem to really care. My husband goes to PT and OT. On Sunday, they have church, and they have all kinds of activities, but he hasn't participated yet. Regarding the staff, he likes them, and the ones I've talked to have been really nice.

Both my parents are residents here, and my mom had chronic issues with skin breakdown BEFORE she came in. I must say the staff has done an excellent job of keeping her skin in good condition and keeping her well-nourished. The activity program is well-developed. My dad recently went on hospice services, and the facility has been supportive of the additional support staff coming in. Only once in 6 years did the staff fail to notify me that one of my parents had been admitted to the hospital- and when that error was identified, the head nurse filed an incident report and took corrective action immediately. Overall, the facility is clean and well-kept. Staff turnover is a concern, as it is everywhere. I wish they had a day room or activity room, because residents usually hang out around the front desk area or in their rooms. As an occupational therapist, this facility was not my first choice but overall I have been happy with the care they have provided my parents.
