Please do not put your loved one here if they have any kind of medical issue. They do not have the medical staff or equipment to help these elderly people. We were told my Mom would “age in place” when asked what would happen when she started to decline. What does that even mean? If my sister had none come by and found my Mom holding food in her mouth from lunch and burning hot with fever she would probably have died that night. The nurse, Madison didn’t even have a thermometer to take her temp. My sister called the ambulance, they didn’t even want her to do that. She was septic from a UTI and passed away a few days later at my sisters home. My Mom was never happy there, she missed her home and her little dog. They would tell her, “this is your home now” and and we are your family now”. No one came to her funeral or even sent a card or flowers. For the amount of money they get each month you get 3 meals, laundry done, and some silly games to play. Our Mom fell several times and hit her head. She had fell the day before my sister found her burning up with fever. They just propped her in her chair and rolled her to lunch. I have pictures of the damage to her poor head. Her neighbor down the hall fell fell a couple of days later and she had a brain bleed and was taken to a nursing home. Falls are very common here. They do not have enough staff or the proper kind of staff to run a facility of this size. It is heartbreaking. It looks so nice from the outside but go by and spend a day of two there. These residents walk around like they are in the land of the lost. Stumbling and falling and craving any kind of interaction. I just had to share our story. Please think twice before you take your loved one who is beginning to have problems with their health to this facility.

I went to Villa South for volunteer hours for the Florence High School Medical Science Academy. The employees are kind and do their best; I could tell the residents were well cared for. The main issue I have is their lack of organization. I do understand- this is a small town and they're the only assisted living home I'm aware of. They've got a lot on their plate. But I was told the activities director would call me about more volunteer hours and it just never happened. Still, I'd recommend them.

The key to this type facility is the management and staff. They are extremely caring. My mother in law has been a resident for 5 years and has received excellent care. I recommend it highly

My grandmother is a resident of villa south and we are overly pleased with the care she has received while there. The place is absolutely beautiful and all the staff has gone out of their way to help in anyway needed. I would highly recommend villa south to anyone needing assisted living care.

I visited Villa South. It was a beautiful facility. It had a lot of outdoor room that appealed to me. However, you would only have one big room, and that did not appeal to me. I would rather have an apartment with a couple of rooms. The staff was very nice and friendly. They had all the services I would have needed. They served meals. I don't think they needed to improve on anything except maybe provide apartments instead of single rooms, but I wouldn't mind if you would tell them that I liked their place.

Villa South was smaller, and the people seemed to be really caring. It was not big; it was like a small town community. The staff were excellent. My dad was in a shared room, but they had private rooms that would open. The rooms were fine; there was nothing wrong with them. The semi-private rooms were not that spacious, but the private ones were. It was more than adequate for them. I loved the dining room because it was big and spacious. And they left it open for 24 hours, so the residents could go in, have coffee or juice, and just sit and talk. He loved the food and did not complain, so it must be pretty good. They had trips to grocery stores and nearby churches, games, bingo, singing, and other activities. I was very pleased with the activities. My dad loved it, and I highly recommend the facility.
