We liked Saint Therese of Oxbow Lake. It's a very nice facility, but it's lacking a little bit in the community areas. It didn't have a warm feeling. They have different room sizes and they're very nice. The staff was very warm. The dining area was very nice as well. They have a wellness center, a pool, coffee shops, a chapel, and daily mass.

I visited St. Therese of Oxbow, it's a little more expensive, it's newer, and they have a swimming pool for members. It's a heated pool, if you have osteoarthritis, it feels good, and I use that pool every week. They have independent apartments, you can make a meal for yourself, and eat two meals with the group. They have their own washer and dryer and they treat the people very well. They have a cafeteria for visitors, but it's not open on weekends, only on weekdays.

We have chosen St. Therese of Oxbow Lake for my mother. The main reason she likes this place is because it is Catholic and it has a chapel. That was really the selling point for her. She can go to mass five days a week and have communion served on the sixth day. It's very nice. The person who assisted us was wonderful. There are different activities but none that my mom is very interested in because she doesn't play games. She does read a lot of books and they seem to have a good program for getting library books. I tried the food and it was wonderful. We didn't eat in the dining room; we ate in the bistro. The food was very good.

St. Therese of Oxbow Lake was very well kept up and new. My parents liked that it had an on-site movie theater and that many of the apartments had balconies. The dining facility was nice and well kept up. The staff member who assisted us was very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and answered all of our questions.

We decided on Saint Therese at Oxbow Lake. It’s an older building that's not quite as shiny, but they’re good. The staff is wonderful; I like their friendliness. The food is good. The price is comparable. The security seems fine; you need a pass card or a code to go in. The amenities are nice but they probably need to update the bathrooms in the apartments.

St. Therese is one stoplight from where I live right now, so I would be very close to many of the friends I have in this neighborhood. I have been there for happy hour, the residents had a presentation, we could tour the apartments, and they had music and refreshments after. The rooms were very satisfactory. However, they only have 2 elevators, the hallways are very long, and I would not be able to accept an apartment that is at the end of the hall. It was very clean, quite upscale, and beautifully decorated. The lobby or common room is very nice; they have a beautiful chapel that can sit 80 people. The dining room was set very nicely with flowers and centerpieces. It was a bit more expensive, but it’s not a problem that I have to worry about.

My 84 y.o. mother was at the transitional care unit at St. Therese of Oxbow lake, to "gain strength" after a 3 day hospital stay. She entered St. Therese using a walker. She left St. Therese 3 weeks later on a stretcher with a broken pelvis, from which she will never heal. She lost all of her strength while she was there, because they forbade her from walking. She was only allowed to be in bed or in a wheelchair. She is now on hospice, actively dying. Please don't consider this place for your parents.

St Therese of Oxbow Lake was very friendly and my tour was very thorough. The staff took me through all the different areas available for use and showed me one of the available apartments. She also gave us a packet of additional information that we asked about. The person who gave the tour knew everything. And the people she met in the hall all said hello and said "you're going to love it here" or "I love it here", so it was a very friendly place. I was particularly interested in their pool, they also had a fitness center, therapy center, exercise programs, and buses to take you to different places if you'd like to go to events.

Don’t let the clean building fool you. Check out all reviews and violations. Have someone stay with your loved one as much as possible in short term care. My father stayed in his bed for 45 minutes with warm jacket and clothing on when he was first transferred here after major surgery. It was so sad. He was put on the toilet with his pants left on. Takes to long to answer the call button and my father cannot wait. There is much more but please protect your loved one. Think hard if this is the place for someone you love to be.

My mother was in St Therese of Oxbow Lake a year ago. The rooms were very nice, and the facility was a five, but the staff was very poor. It was worse than where she is now. She was in transition care for probably 40 days, then we moved her to assisted living for a day, and then we took her out. The living atmosphere was good, but the assisted living was not good because she needed more care. The facility itself was very nice. It's a new facility, it's clean, very well kept, and the meals were very good.

This facility is by far the best I have ever witnessed. They really take the time for their residents and make sure everyone that comes in there is open with a welcoming smile. They have a cinema in there and plenty of entertainment for them as well. They also have very nice dining areas, and make it like a restaurant so the residents have a choice of what they would like to have for food. I absolutely love this place and feel it is great for any senior to live, because they can still have their life and live it up well! The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and the place shines like the sun. It's very up to date and modern with the times, comfortable and warm.

Saint Therese Senior Services at Oxbow Lake has a chapel for my father. It's a Catholic facility. They also have an indoor swimming pool, a nice exercise room that was very big, and a nice cinema. On the premises, they have independent living, assisted living, memory care, and then they have total nursing care. The staff is very friendly, outgoing, and very positive. Probably the other thing that Saint Therese has going for it is I have an aunt there in their independent living. They have 4 dining options. They're more varied. They have a pool, and they have this beautiful cinema where they show movies on an evening basis.
It's very well kept up. I think the building is maybe 15 years old, but it's very well taken care of.
