Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care

My wife is at Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. She just moved in. It's absolutely incredible. Last night they had a taco truck, and they fed everybody tacos. They have a Mother's Day party with lobster on bread. It has just been incredible. The staff members are very prompt, very courteous, very active, and involved. I had lunch with her, and they gave me a free lunch and an evening meal, and it was very good. Right now, the air conditioner is not working in her room, but I'm sure they'll get that fixed. Otherwise, it's been pretty good. It's a very nice facility. They have outdoor spaces. We've been sitting out there, and it's very nice. I haven't been to their PT or their gym at all yet. However, they have a schedule of activities. They have a movie night on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They have games. It seems they have a lot of activities. They had fixed pricing, so here it was $9,125. No matter what they do, it's a fixed price. I like that better than some of the other ones where it's going to be $4,000 if my wife is at this level and $5,000 if she is at that level. I just didn't feel comfortable with that type of arrangement. I like the fixed one better. It was closest to my house, and it had the highest rating, too. Out of ten it was like 9.3, and it was one of the highest ratings of all of them that I looked at.

I chose Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care for my wife. They do both assisted living and memory care, and I just took a general tour of the building. They showed me a typical room. The place was very nice. It was quiet and everything looked clean. The rooms are very nice. They had a salon there if somebody wanted to go in and get their hair and nails done. They had a single room, a single bed, a TV, a lounge chair, a walk-in shower, and a bathroom. Pretty basic room, it's like a small hotel room.

Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care is a very nice facility. It looks like the care is very good, so it is a contender. The apartments were very nice. They showed us the common rooms and everything that would pertain to a memory care facility such as community rooms, kitchens, sitting rooms, information rooms, and a library. The outdoor facility was probably better than the other place just because they had a courtyard where residents could walk in and not have to worry about leaving the building.

I toured Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave lots of good information. They didn't make me feel rushed. They were willing to take plenty of time to talk to me and answer my questions. I had a nice tour of the facility. The dining room was nicely setup. The building had a nice combination of bright places with a lot of natural light, but also areas that were a little more cozy feeling. It was a nice area. It had close access to roads, but yet was set in a place where there was a lot of good landscaping or scenery around. It was a pretty setting. You felt like you were away from the roads and things, but they were close by. It was during lunchtime, so they were starting to fill up the dining room. They said I was welcome to bring my mom back at a mealtime if I wanted. They had good laundry facilities. There was certain days of the week they had someone in for a beauty salon. They had games and books. They had an exercise room, a little theater room, and a nice little community room.

Had an immediate need to find a place for my mom a couple of years ago. All I had was google and to try to find a place near me and my brothers as we wanted to move her closer to us from No. Minnesota. It’s such a scary situation to be when you have no idea what to expect. It’s been over two years now and could not be happier. She loves the staff and her resident family. Whether it’s happy hour on a Friday in the lounge, 6pm movies every night in the theater or a night out for the outdoor concerts in Ramsey or shopping at dollar store they do what it takes to keep my mom active. As with anything or everywhere staffing can be challenging but they really care for my mom which am grateful.

We went to see Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean with a lot of useful amenities for seniors. We toured the assisted living part of it. I guess the only reason my mother-in-law wouldn't like it is probably that there wasn't much storage in the rooms. A lot of the bathrooms and the vanity areas were just a sink so if you want to put away stuff, you have to bring your own storage for the bathroom. I guess that would be the one drawback for the bathrooms. She also kind of wanted more of a full kitchen and theirs were more of a mini kitchen for most of the rooms. I would say if the person likes to cook, it's not a full kitchen and they don't have an oven and stove. My mother-in-law still likes to cook and the kitchens were not made for people who still enjoy cooking.
