Earle Brown Terrace is an old building set up for older people, and they seem to have people that care and cater to what the people needed. My dad had a very nice apartment. It had a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom -- nothing fancy -- but it definitely had his basic needs. They had a lot of activities. The food was very good. He ate downstairs in the main dining room, and it was all catered. They had transportation once a week. If they could do it twice a week, so they could go out a little bit more often, that would be better because it was kind of out in the suburbs far away from stores.

Both my grandparents recently moved to Earle Brown Terrace. They were origianlly from a small town in southern Minnesota, and were tenative to move to the "city". With my grandpa no longer able to drive, they gave up their car too. To say the least they were very tenative on wanting to move, but the rest of the family knew they needed a little assistance. We originally thought they would only need medication assistance, but what they receive now benifits them termendously! Socialization is wonderful (as they used to be in there house with a few neighbors that stopped over every once in a while), to a lot of new friends. Transportation to stores, outings, and errands, to having almost a second set of family with the staff. So wonderful to see them happy and doing better than they were in their old house by themselves. Everytime I go to visit, the staff tells me all the things they have been up to, and say how thankful they are to have them as a part of their Earle Brown Family. So greatful to the careing staff!!

My mother is in Earle Brown Terrace for a year and a half now and everything is going well. It is about half a mile from me. So, it is easy for me to get to. It is on the grounds of the historic Earle Brown Farm. It is a high rise building with 11 floors. It has a dining room, but my mother only take her dinner there because she eats her breakfast and lunch in her room. The food is very good. They have plenty of activities. They have exercise classes Mondays to Fridays, which my mother participates in. They have social hour, a birthday dinner and a new resident dinner at the same time. They have somebody come in every Friday for entertainment. They had special holiday stuff. They have bingo, arts and crafts, outings and they went out to dinners. Every week, they have a bus that takes them to Target and every other week, they have a bus that takes them to Walmart. They also have people to take the bus to do their own grocery shopping. It is very nice.
