My family and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and compassion shown at West Hickory Haven. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt a genuine sense of warmth and professionalism. The staff goes above and beyond every single day—not just to meet the needs of the residents, but to truly connect with them as individuals. My loved one has been living here for 2Months, and the transformation in their well-being has been remarkable. They are more active, engaged, and most importantly, happy. The nursing team is attentive and skilled, the facility is always clean and welcoming, and the activities offered help keep everyone mentally and socially stimulated. Communication with the family is excellent—we’re always kept in the loop and feel like true partners in the care process. It’s such a comfort to know that our loved one is in a place where they are treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. I highly recommend West Hickory Haven, to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive environment for their loved one. This place is a true blessing.

The facility is very old, and not cleaned regularly. The facility was without water for approximately 3 weeks in the summer of 2024 because 2 of their wells failed inspections. Residents went without showers for those weeks. The only available water was what was bought in. Again, in 9/24 there was another water problem and the facility was on a boil water alert. The resident rooms are small with no air conditioning in them except for the halls. Many of the staff are not regular employees and are hired by agencies on a day to day basis so the facility can meet their daily staffing requirements. This becomes a problem because the staff never gets to know the resident and their needs. Look at the state inspection findings, they speak for themselves. I would never recommend this facility.

Long story short. My mom was very ill. They claim to have taken her vitals and came back a few minutes later and she was dead. They were "surprised to find she had died". The older nurses/caregivers were very short and mean to to her verbally. The younger aids were pretty much clueless how to help her.

The doctor, nurses, aides and all of the staff at West Hickory Haven provided my husband with not only excellent care but compassion and caring not only to him but to our family as we visited him. When there we noted the care and kindness and caring that they showed to other patients as well. They are an excellent facility with a wonderful, caring staff.
