These are 24 hour residential care homes in the city of Wichita. Located very conveniently near the Woodlawn and Central area of town, the four Home Plus facilities house up to 8 residents in each. Care is very personalized. These are the homes that Mom and Dad grew up in and in the neighborhoods that are familiar to them. If you haven't checked out the Home Plus option for long term care, you need to pay attention! It is a great alternative to the traditional nursing home care! It is especially appropriate for folks with Alzheimer's because it is so much more intimate than a nursing home. There are both semi and private rooms at each house. Bedrooms are personalized and comfy. Food is prepared by a professional chef and delivered daily to the homes. 2 LPNs rotate throughout the homes daily and the administrator is a Master level RN! These are some dedicated staff! All care is delivered on site. Big plus, you never should have to move your loved one after admission again! All state regs and statutes apply and the homes are surveyed regularly by the KDOA. Not a lot of activity programming. Some of the homes could use some updating and staffing issues are as present here as in any long term care setting. Highly recommended for quality of care. New home opened recently on West side of town in Garden Plain.

Our first Arbor Home was opened in 2003. This home provided another avenue for long-term care in a home environment. Arbor Home provides 24-hour personalized care, by familiar faces in a safe family focused setting of 6 to 8 residents. I realized I couldn't ever replace the feeling of them being in their own home. However, at Arbor Home residents can decorate their bedroom with their own personal items and furnishings from their home. The difference is, they sleep in their own bed but have someone to assist them 24-hours per day.
