The residents at Two Hearts are anywhere from 65 to 100. Most are able to walk with assist or require one assist for daily activities. The residents love to be outside, play Bingo, and watch old tv shows.
What programs or activities does Two Hearts Homes for Seniors offer to enrich residents' well-being?
Two Hearts has a certified service dog, Louie, who is there daily for companionship. There is a daily exercise regimen (low impact/some seated) for the residents. PT, OT, and Speech therapies come in as needed. There is also music therapy where residents create their own playlist and have headsets where they can listen to their music whenever they please.
What places are near Two Hearts Homes for Seniors or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
We are across the street from a field and we have a nice little pond behind us where a couple residents have fished.
What transportation services does Two Hearts Homes for Seniors offer to assisted living residents?
Mostly family will transport residents. There is another service we use if needed that is wheelchair accessible. For monthly events (when there are no covid restrictions) we would rent a bus/van.

We are a family-centered home so the caregivers make home-cooked meals. We have also had residents and family members frequently make meals for the residents.

Staffed 24 hours with CPR certified, trained caregiving staff, entry sensors on all exterior doors and common areas monitored by cameras.
How does Two Hearts Homes for Seniors keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
They have the owners cell phone number, manager’s, and caregivers. You wont see that at any other assisted living facility.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Two Hearts Homes for Seniors during daytime and nighttime hours?
1 to 5 and at night 1 to 8.

Depends on the animal.

Monthly ongoing caregiver education/training. Staff meetings also.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
3 daytime and 2 at night when the home is full (16 residents).

All exterior doors have sensors on them and our staff is notified on their pagers they wear when any door is opened.
What programs or activities does Two Hearts Homes for Seniors offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
We frequently have puzzles and adult coloring books out. We do daily activities/exercises for the residents. We also have other home health/ home hospice company reps come in and play games with the residents. There are also many family members that come in frequently and either sit and talk with the residents or play games.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
Every month, our house-call doctor/nurse practitioner comes and sees all of the residents. Caregivers are also trained to report to management if they feel that a resident is not acting like his/herself. Then management immediately notifies the NP or will call appropriate assistance (911 if needed).

Management/Caregivers typically text the families once a week to update them. Most of the time this is not necessary as families frequently visit their loved ones at Two Hearts. Family members are very much a part of the home themselves.

About Two Hearts Homes for Seniors
Two Hearts Homes for Seniors is a spectacular new senior living home located Lowell Indiana. This boutique community provides high-quality care with an All-Inclusive price point. Our monthly rate is a flat fee regardless of the level of care needed. We provide support to those who require help with activities of daily living such as cooking, personal care, and medication reminders. Two Hearts’ purpose is to provide more personalized care to seniors in an environment that feels as if they were in their own home.
Thoughtfully designed, this single-level ranch-style home was designed for intimacy, accessibility, and privacy for those who require help but still want to feel like they are at home rather than in a larger facility. The open concept of the main area of the home is based on the feeling of family. The hope is that those living in the home feel supported not only by the caregivers but each other - just like family.
At Two Hearts Homes for Seniors, all our rooms our private. Licensed for 16 residents, we have a low number of residents to available caregivers. Depending upon the time of day, we can offer a ratio of 1 -2 caregivers to 5-7 residents. Because of our small size, we offer flexibility in meal preferences, activities, interests, and entertainment. When it comes to helping your loved one, we believe we are fully equipped with the right team in place in order to provide the care and attention your loved one deserves.
