My mother is in Wedgewood Healthcare Center. Their rehab program seems to be helping her a little bit. The facility is clean and well kept, and they have good staff. The food's not wonderful, it's mediocre food. The place seems to be taken care of in that respect, though it's not the fanciest place in the world, it's pretty basic. So far, her Medicare is taking care of the cost.

The facility is filthy. Their idea of housekeeping is somebody coming in and sweeping 3 days a week and empty the Overflow trash bags. Yesterday I had visitors who spent an hour organizing my room and removed THREE large bags of trash. One of the overnight CNAs is usually intoxicated. There are a few CNAs that are Absolute Angels; professional and considerate. Unfortunately the majority of them treat residents as hostile and can't wait to get out of the room as soon as they turn off the call light . I have had them walk out while I was still talking and one of them has manhandled me when changing my briefs . Some of fully trained nurses have no idea what they're doing. (Im not a medical professional but I know that you don't attach an oxsat reader to the same arm that is getting blood pressure reading at the same time.) My nurse doing evening meds last night couldn't hear me because she was listening to an audiobook on her phone.....while giving MEDS. Management is very friendly and all smiles and Promises with zero follow through. They are intimidated by their Frontline workers for some reason and let them do whatever the heck they want to with zero accountability. Like I said there is one young lady with a drinking problem and a couple of others who have come into my room wreaking of weed. The state was here a couple of weeks ago and found several major infractions in my room alone yet nothing seems to have changed. Im scared and am preparing my loved ones for my sudden demise. It's that bad.

Housekeeping means taking the trash out once every other day no wiping down or mopping. The food budget is probably about 15 bucks per day. Being ignored for up to 24 hours is not uncommon. What is common is being told "I need some help and I'll be right back" and no one shows up. Most of the staff is very sweet and well-meaning, a small percentage of the CNAs are hostile. The front line makes a solid sales pitch and I had good feelings at first but it's pretty obvious there is no follow-up once they get you in the door.

RUN RUN RUN AWAY!!! This facility is the worst excuse for a medical facility I have ever been in. My sister was there for only a couple of weeks and her bedsores turned gangrene and she had to have 2 major operations which she may not recover from. Staff is slow to respond, if at all. Medications were not given correctly. Patients are not being monitored to see if they are eating or drinking. The water pitcher was taken out of the room so that she couldn't have an accident that they would need to clean since she is bedridden.
