"I was very impressed with McCarthy Court. They have a very nice facility, so we'd certainly consider going there. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The lunch was very nice. They didn't pressure us or anything. They just showed us around, and we were surprised at how nice and clean it was. They had a library and two very nice outside areas, one with a fountain in the middle and gardens for the residents to do their own planting if they so desire. They have two lovely dining areas. One is very special and is used for special occasions. It's convenient to everything in town. They have a gym, a fitness room, therapy if needed, and trips to a theater, play, concert, or whatever is going on in town. Plus, once a month or so, they go to the farmers' market on a Saturday. It's a very welcoming place. Another very nice feature they had was if you get a one-bedroom unit, and you have company come stay in two very nice guest rooms that are available at no charge. It had a grill room, Happy Hour, music going, snacks, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. "

"I arrived early in the morning for a tour. Parking spaces were very limited. When I entered the main building, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and she told me to wait in the hospitality room. I waited for 20 minutes before being approached by the woman from Human Resources. She said that she would be taking me on the tour and apologized about the wait. She showed me the fitness center, which only had a couple of pieces of equipment, the activity center, which was empty at the time, the beauty salon that is open on Wednesdays, and a floor plan of a one bedroom, assisted living apartment. They offer assisted living, independent living, and a special unit for those who need to be in a locked facility. The room shown to me was small and outdated, but it did appear clean. She showed me around the community and introduced me to several of the people who live there. They were all very friendly. "

"My husband is now residing at The Viridian. They're brand new and they've had a few start-up problems, but nothing critical, and he seems to be quite happy right now. The staff are very, very good. The food is quite good. They have activities, but I'm not familiar with all of those, and my husband is not a participant. They have a library, an exercise room, and a large television room where people can go in and relax in there. All of whom I've seen are men and ballgames."
